Woman killed in skydiving accident at parachute center in San Joaquin County [CA]

“What was reported to us from someone who witnessed the (incident)… was that the chute failed to fully open as she was coming down and it was heavily tangled around her,” the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.

They said the woman was “very experienced.”

The FAA said they are investigating the incident, but focusing on the parachute rigging.

I've always believed that skydivers were either voluntarily or involuntarily celibate.

Were there a one in a million chance that they might get laid this weekend, well, they're not likely to take the chance and jump.

Went through parachuting class in the military (compulsory to draw flight pay) but never did it for real although we were encouraged to do so. I wasn't the only one who deemed lessons on the ground good enough - though I did have to rappel off a tall wall. That was quite enough jumping from high up for me.

Parachuting is something I'd never do voluntarily.

Now if the plane I was on was going down, I guess I'd have to strap one on and hope for the best.
