Britannia was the Latin name given to the UK by the Romans after their invasion in 43 CE. The weapon-clad warrior woman became a personification of the British Isles and has fronted the country's currency since 1672.

More attempts to marginalize the indigenous peoples of England.

The hair pulling part is Britain allowed these people into the country. You gotta to hand to the Japanese who actually believe Japan is for Japanese.

When they say “of color” they mean black. The blacks had nothing to do with 99% of British history, but why quibble I guess.

On the bright side I can look at the Non-PC version of Britannia armed with a trident on my Victorian era pennies.

Yes, the UK needs to make sure the 3% blacks (including dark meds) of its population is represented properly (source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/270386/ethnicity-in-the-united-kingdom/)

Based on UK woke TV you would think it was 45%.

I had to look twice to make sure it was not Franklin Mint and it was not a “tribute” coin.

(PS: Those Limited Edition Star Trek plates lovingly stored in my attic are the next Bitcoin! My retirement is SET!)

Um, it looks like she is either gold or silver like every other Britannia.

But then in coins, as in life, it’s always about the content of the character.

"Britannia was the Latin name given to the UK by the Romans after their invasion in 43 CE BC." There, fixed. Shove it up your collective Obamaholes, CNN.

“More attempts to marginalize the indigenous peoples of England.”

That’s exactly what is going on.

I wonder if there has ever been another society that commits suicide like Judeo-Christian society is doing?

Maybe the Greeks?

The blacks had nothing to do with 99% of British history...

There are plenty of blackguards in British history.

Julius Caesar already uses the term Britannia in his Commentaries on the Gallic War, written in the 50s B.C.

Franklin Mint is about making money for the Franklin Mint.

It would never attempt to push this turkey.

You should read “The Star-Spangled Crunch” by Richard Condon, in which commemorative plates become the basis for the U.S. economy. Very funny book.
