What — no Metallica or AC/DC on this list? :-P

Was kind of in a hurry to hear these until I saw Adele’s “Someone like you in the list”. Need I saymore. I will check out the others, however.

I can think of several compositions by Phillip Glass that would fit this description. “Vessels” is but one of them.

“In a Sentimental Mood” by Kenny G. Makes me want to lean back and have a cigarette, and I don’t even smoke...

Pretty much anything by Slayer covers it for me.

If Black Sabbath or Frank Zappa is not on the list, I’m finished with this thread.

Does “relaxing” mean boring and unlistenable?

The list is wrong, doesn’t include “Float on” by the Floaters.

"The reason for this, as explained by Lyz Cooper of the British Academy of Sound Therapy, is that the song utilizes a biomusicological phenomenon called “entrainment.” Cooper reports, “The song contains a sustaining rhythm that starts at 60 beats per minute and gradually slows to around 50. While listening, your heart rate gradually comes to match that beat.”

What a bunch of gobblygook. Really? "British Academy of Sound Therapy"? As if anyone who enjoys music didn't know that slower tempos are soothing. The down side of slow tempo is it can be an aphrodisiac. Watch out, men! Never let her play Enya, slow Yanni, or other new age easy listening stuff. Never, ever put on Neil Diamond or Rod Stewart - even their moderate tempo stuff.

“sustaining rhythm that starts at 60 beats per minute and gradually slows to around 50”

A “rhythm”?? Really? I sure don’t detect any remotely close to 60 bpm.

Morning Mood by Edvard Grieg.

It is what I wake up to.

So soothing. And when it is over time to hit the floor, drink a pint of coffee and get on with the day.

This music is mostly okay. Especially liked the Mozart (which was used in "Shawshank Redemption"). Anything by Enya is also very solid when you want to chill out and have background music to read by.

Lot of music does this for me. Recently I listed to "Street Life" by The Crusaders (1979) and it holds up very well even 42 years later.

Also rediscovering some Rickie Lee Jones albums. Calms the nerves.

I can’t give you just ONE song, but I can give you a whole channel where 85-90 per cent of the songs played there would qualify. ALL are good, but some are a little bit more up tempo.

Direct TV channel 856

I acutually listened to more than half of “Weightless”. Not relaxing for me but annoying like New Age Music. I guess I am odd.

The only two 'artists' anyone needs for their collection:

However, Vangelis looks CRAZY in any photo I've seen of him, and Yanni was mean to Linda Evans! Who could EVER be mean to Linda Evans?
