i got a new name.
Journeys End
Won dah whooo’s Cryin now...
Loved them.
It’s really sad that these breakups (as with Grand Funk RR) are so hostile. Steve Smith was a very good drummer, probably in my top ten.
Live, no, I didn’t think they were that great. But they were a terrific album group. Their gold records testify to that, and I still think Perry is the best overall rock singer ever.
Thank you! Can’t stand journey. Instant turn of the dial when one of their songs start.
Journey’s stadium rock is as boring to me as the NFL that actually plays in those stadiums: long “commercial breaks” punctuated by actual play.
At least they’re not lovin’, touchin’, squeezin’ each other.
We had this same problem in a band I was in.....fighting over a name.
I wanted our name to be The Rolling Stones.
It seems that there’s another band with that name.
So we called ourselves Herb Alpert And The Tijuana Brass.
Journey ended for me when Steve Perry left.
Good artistic talent and good personalities don’t necessarily go together.
They’re still fighting over the name?
Creedence Clearwater went through something like this too.
John Fogerty was told not to mention it during his performances. That may have been resolved with a payoff long ago.
OMG! What are you talking about? Go back to listening to your Jazz and Blue Grass.
Steve Perry one of the best vocalists OF ALL TIME!
I guess they all hadn’t been out in the heat with a blue jeaned girl, with that burning love that only comes once in a lifetime.
Same sort of thing goes on in all walks of life. Fighting over property - intellectual or otherwise after an acrimonious split. Why should music be any different?
One if my favorite lines of all time is sitting in a Texas divorce lawyer’s office. She says “In my cases someone is always fighting about who gets the black and white TV and the rhinestone encrusted douchebag.”
This was more than a few years ago of course.
Guess they’re going separate ways.
Never really minded them. I have no musical talent so I can judge. I have a divers taste in music. Only thing I don’t like is the random sounding jazz. Grew up in the 80s. So that time frame was all over the map.
They made ONE decent album in 1975, “Journey”.
Since, nothing but high-school girl pablum.
ya I was the only one in my peer group who rejected them... Never liked the girly boy’s voice. Cant think of one song I would out right buy..or bought...
Call’m the Redskins, no one is using that name.
