It's always guns with these people! Most responsible parents lock up their weapons, especially if they notice changes in their teenagers emotional state.
The most frequent methods used by teenagers are hanging, jumping from high places, and overdosing on pills or other poisons.
Let's propose alternate endings.....
"Dad opens the door and finds Cameron dead, not from a gunshot, but an overdose from his Mom's valium tablets....."

A gun-nut friend of mine told me he got good at home gunsmithing because he was afraid of his dad coming home and finding the bolts of his guns reduced to there basic parts. Said he could reassemble one in less time than it took for his dad to get out of the car and get inside the door.

Used to have a lot of weapons as well. Ended up cleaning a lot of weapons every quarter that I never really used. Sold most of them off and now I only keep enough guns to accomplish my goals.....
