I just wanted to find out if others get frequent (daily) calls from self-described buyers of residential properties.
I know where it comes from. These numerous “real estate courses” which which advertise on junk t.v. and radio spots make unrealistic promises of 6-figure income with little or no personal money invested. It’s a scam, but it’s amazing how many people fall for it and then begin hectoring home owners non-stop about selling their home, hoping to score on a distress sale. I know how to get out of it by just pricing my modest home in the millions, but would like to get off these lists.
Is there a do-not-call list which will get these off my back, or does these fraudsters not have to comply?
Phone calls and post cards wanting to buy my 2nd house. Not for sale. Bye.
Text messages. They get blocked instantly. No reply.
Nope, lots of emails though.

They’ll end if and when interest rates start going up.
Yeah. I’ve gotten three in the last two days. I just add the numbers to my “reject call” list.
Good to know about the latest scam. Poor b@st@rds get suckered by these “make millions easily” shysters.
We don’t answer our land line phones now unless it’s a recognized caller. That being said, we do get a huge number of calls that we never answer and which do not leave messages.

What’s going on in my neighborhood is people put the house on the market in the morning, and select the over asking price offer over dinner.
Yes, I get them and texts too. They don’t even use my right name. The real estate records in this state are available online, so I wonder if they have darker intentions. I have heard some scammers just want a recording of your voice that they can then use to impersonate you. So, I don’t say anything to them, I just hang up or delete.
If I do not get 5 or more a week, then something is wrong.
They drive by my home all of the time and take pictures.
We have a STEM school under construction and live in a moderately priced home surrounded by home values that are close to and well over several million dollars.
I have two rental properties. I am receiving several such calls a day, some “manned”, some robocalls saying call X number if you want to sell.
Do not call list doesn’t matter - all my phone numbers are on it. More importantly, they’re collating the databases. Thus they’ll call my home line, cell phone, and maybe spouse’s cell phone in sequence.
I don’t know where they’re getting the data, but we’re obviously on a curated list. One caller told me they were with a regional wholesaler “we buy houses” type, another called from a professional call center and said I’m just going down the list.
I have heard of scams where they say they want to buy the property, use the pending sale excuse to put a lien against the home, then extort you to get the lien off.
Home equity theft is actually a thing, as is selling a house out from under a home owner by pretending to the them.
At least I don’t live in Nevada where private guardians were putting people in institutions and selling their property to “pay” for their nursing home care.
Don’t know where yours come from, but I get some type of contact from legit real estate agents asking if I want to sell at least once a week. The market where I am is hot right now.
The house next door just had a for sale sign with an ‘under contract’ on it go up yesterday. It had no type of sign prior. Same thing with another house down the street last week.
I’m one of those investors you speak of but I NEVER would cold call or door knock. I only send letters to owners who are in pre-foreclosure, and letters are easy to disregard and toss. I’m only looking for the folks who are in genuine trouble - and there are plenty just here in metro Denver. I’m also one of the graduates of such programs you mention. Many ARE scams, but mine, in four short years, has enabled me to create over $10 million in revenue with six figures in profits. I’m a debt free millionaire, thanks to this program AND I get to help sellers who need fast help.
Before anyone suggests, I’ve tried Robokiller on my cell phone. That’s a scam too.
Not real estate calls, but I was getting 15-20 robocalls a day for other crap. I can heartily recommend a Sentry 3.1 call screener. You enter the numbers you allow to get through. Other’s if human can get through by jumping acouple hoops. No robos ever. If someone gets through that you don’t want calling back they can be blocked.
