I have heard of scams where they say they want to buy the property, use the pending sale excuse to put a lien against the home, then extort you to get the lien off.

Home equity theft is actually a thing, as is selling a house out from under a home owner by pretending to the them.

At least I don’t live in Nevada where private guardians were putting people in institutions and selling their property to “pay” for their nursing home care.

How do they get around the title requirements - such as notarized signatures?
