Eight slain in Atlanta, now 10 in Boulder. Your town could be next. Can the nation finally do something about weapons of war on our streets?
President Joe Biden called Tuesday for Congress to move immediately to “ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.” It’s a start, though he’ll have to reach across party lines for real this time, since some Democrats are as anti-gun-control as the bulk of today’s GOP.
The New York Post does not see this as a conservative or liberal issue — it’s an issue of life and death. Curbing guns is what led to New York City’s three-decade reduction in murders. And, sadly, it’s the dismissal of that progress that has led to a rise in shootings here. Outside the city, the toll of semi-automatic weapons is a sad litany of cities and schools: Newtown, Parkland, Aurora, Las Vegas. It’s a national shame.
We called on President Donald Trump to act, and we’ll happily support Biden in a fight for the needed changes. Polls show most Americans want this. It’s the political establishment that is frozen.

Corporations cannot speak, people do. So what little white liberal nerd says to do this??
They will BECOME weapons of war, the moment you try to ban them or take them.
Count on it, assholes.
Here are some facts.
As far as we know, pistols were used in both cases.
All long guns combined....yes including AR-15s....are responsible for about 4% of murders with guns in the US. Yes that’s right. Four Percent. Read the FBI crime statistics.
You are twice as likely to be murdered with hands and feet as with any long gun.
You are five times as likely to be stabbed to death as murdered with any long gun.
Magazine capacity has never been found to be a factor in various crimes with guns.
“Weapons of War” is vague emotion laden term. A K-bar knife is a “weapon of war”. So are swords, maces, etc. You know what is not and never has been a “weapon of war”? The AR-15. Yes, that’s right. It has never been anything but a civilian rifle. In fact, no military on earth uses a semi automatic as their main battle rifle today. That has been the case for about 50 years even among the poorest countries.
Gun bans have never been shown to reduce crime and will not reduce crime for one simple reason. Criminals are not going to give up their guns. They’re.....get this.....criminals. They don’t care about your laws. The only people gun bans will disarm are the law abiding.
For EVERY person shot by a deranged lunatic with a gun, at least 5 times as many are SAVED by a responsible person with a gun.

Instead of ‘commom sense’ gun laws,
how about ‘science based’ gun laws, with ‘data?’
The current weapon of war is the mentally unbalanced person allowed to be on our streets.
The gun is an INANIMATE OBJECT that is harmless except when in the company of an unbalanced person.
Get weapons of Nazi propaganda media off America’s streets
“weapons of war”
Hey, where’s my RPG?
Can I get a fully weaponized black hawk too?
The ironic thing about the anti-gun crowd's love of Miller is that, if anything, it stands for the proposition that the 2nd Amendment protects at least the right to keep and bear the standard issue military arms of the day. Under a straight reading of Miller alone, it would seem to me that Hughes Amendment, the Gun Control Act, or even the NFA are plainly unconstitutional to the extent that they restrict the right to own at least an M4 carbine, and probably AR-15s as well.
I think the anti-gunners used to understand that. For most of the history of the gun control movement, from the 1930s into the 1990s, their primary target was not "assault weapons," but handguns, and Miller could be massaged into an argument that the 2nd Amendment does not protect the right to own a handgun because, compared to rifles, they are less essential to militia service.
When they started pivoting to "assault weapons" in the '80s and '90s, I think some forgot the actual holding of Miller, and the rest were too intellectually dishonest to care.
Weapons of war?
Every tool from a rock, hammer, knife to the latest rocket can be considered a weapon of war.
The length of knives are regulated in Japan. In the UK all guns have been confiscated. Australia has banned and confiscated all semi automatic “assault guns”.
Has that stopped murder and mass murder in these countries.
The answer is NO!.
Is that a picture of your Everyday Carry (EDC), loadout? If yes, I recommend you don’t get to close to the edge of any large bodies of deep water.
Confiscated from anarchist rioters.
The reason he didn't show was that he was in hiding from his, uh, business partners. He was killed very shortly after the would-be court date.
Hey dim bulb. Read it again. I am calling the Syrian moslem terrorist a *weapon of war* and saying people such as him have no place on our streets.
Reading is fundamental.
Dumbass yourself. Read it again noob. And learn to recognize sarcasm.
Kamala says weapons of war don’t belong on our streets. I say I agree 100%, that weapons of war like Syrian moslem terrorists do not belong on our streets.
Maybe you should lurk and read a few more years before you start chiming in.
Gotta love the assertions without supporting facts, and assertions that don't even logically follow one another. So, with that in mind.
The New York Post has had multiple, serial, non-consenting sexual relationships with Shetland ponies. Prove me wrong.
Glad to know that there are super intellects like yourself that can post such deep clever sarcasm that belies your actual words; but I digress.
(double secret deep, deep sarcasm)
That good with you?
And your disparagement of ‘noobs’ (yeah, right, four years) is supposed to incline us to believe that due to seniority you are some kind of sage ?
‘no fool like old fool’ etc.
Jk. I actually lmao at noobs being offended at being called noob. Rome is still burning though.
Well, you thought wrong.
Nothing ageist about it (unless you are, as Sammy the bull would say “breakin’ my balls”).
In that case, you got me.
BTW are you a sage ?
