California Governor Gavin Newsom attempted to deflect efforts to recall him by linking Monday to a website that blames “national Republicans, anti-vaxxers, Q-Anon conspiracy theorists and anti-immigrant Trump supporters” for the campaign.
Newsom linked Monday to the “Stop the Republican Recall” website, which declares on its opening page:

No, Gavin, you are just so vile that normal people have finally realized you have to go.
When all else fails throw out the race/hate card. Surely, his incompetence has nothing to do with his political troubles!
Funny how The Fake News Mediums are not interested in that aspect of the effort.
Gov. Gruesome in big trouble!
He’s flailing in the face of 2,000,000 recall signatures. 😎
Spoken like a true Democrat, my problems are due to others, not what I have done.
Gavin, you got the job due to white male privilege, and you are all done now. The Assembly needs to make sure police powers are removed from your grimy mits so you don't try to cling to power.
Wow! Sounds like a losers Oscars speech.
“And I want to curse the following for my incompetence. Q followers. Anon followers. People that hate vaccines that I had nothing to do with. People that hate illegals ( hey a reach out to my MS-13 buds though. Love you guys!) And I want to blame the homeless living in the streets. Californians in general. I mean you hate me! You really hate me!”
He should just be honest and say he made a mistake following Lord Fauci.
They say people rise to their level of incompetence. Governor you have surpassed your level of competence and regardless of which way the recall goes, you are at the end of your political career. You can always become Mayor of San Francisco but I am not sure even they would vote for you.
That’s giving the Q-berts far more credit than they deserve.
Liberal men and women never take responsibility for anything.
I like that Newsom is lashing out. Feeling the heat.
Don't be too sure about that. It's going to be Newsom vs a wide-open gaggle of wannabes. He still has (at last count) 45% support.
More and more, I notice whenever the MSM mentions Trump supporters, they mention Qanon in the same breath. Obviously, an attempt to make us all look like Qooks.
Yet, of the hundred or so strong Trump supporters I know personally, only a few ever mention Q . And none of the ten or twenty top Trump supporting journalists and commentators I follow take Q seriously.
In my Trump supporter circles, Q people are viewed as a nuisance - always sending unwanted daily Q links...
Spoken like a true Democrat, my problems are due to others, not what I have done.

Bingo! Dodge, deflect and dissemble. It will probably work and enable him to stay in office.
Super rich white guy hiding behind the race card??? oh, my.
So, in other words, he’s blaming some people who have a functioning brain and realize this guy is double-plus bad news.
[snip] A recall election would present voters with two questions. The first would ask whether Newsom should be recalled from the office of governor. The second would ask who should succeed Newsom if he is recalled. A majority vote is required on the first question for the governor to be recalled. The candidate with the most votes on the second question would win the election, no majority required. [4] In the 2003 recall of Davis, 135 candidates ran and the winner received 48.58 percent of the vote. [/snip]

[snip] One hopeful is former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, a moderate who officially launched his campaign at a press conference in Los Angeles Tuesday... Viewed by many as the only remotely viable GOP candidate for Governor in a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans nearly two to one, Faulconer told Politico that he would run if the recall drive qualifies by the March deadline, or in the typical 2022 election cycle.
