If we were to have hyperinflation, what would be a good investment? Anything?

Folks...it is becoming apparent that the Democrats are pursuing policies that are going to collapse our economy. They are also taking steps to make sure they never leave power. What is a person to do? We have the examples of Argentina and Venezuela clearly before us. Anyone have some helpful ideas? Ferfal of Argentina has a blog spot and wrote a book, but information from our situation here would be helpful.

How are you going to spend Bitcoin when the powers that be decide to shut down your internet?

Physical possession is my preference, whether gold, silver, tools, food or land etc.

3% mortgage? With the slightest inkling of inflation (not even hyper inflation) the “cost” of owning a newly bought home will be high. The prices will tank.

Got to go with thunder sticks...then you can just take what you need from others who don’t have thunder sticks. You should know who they are by now. :-)

Ooh, I love those, go great with oatmeal and a little brown sugar.

IOW: you can’t EAT metals.

Yes, the correct answer WAS “land.”

Knowing how to farm it is the second.

I argued with idiot brokers at Smith-Barney (who didn’t put in stop-loss orders when I requested them) over this, same with Edward Jones (whose net investment earnings over a ten year period averaged out to about 1% per annum) and my former Bernie Madoff childhood lifelong “friend” who misallocated (pricey family vacations, investment properties that lost money year after year while issuing quarterly statements that were pure fabrications) my 401K leaving me broke (well, me and 5 other people who took him to court and wound up losing our case and all our money and FINRA didn’t see fit to sanction him, his bank let him go, THEY said what he was doing was “on the side,” although he used bank time, equipment, secretarial staff to run the scam).

Every “investor” had the same tone of scorn and derision when I’d mention land.

“Uh, huh. You wanna buy DIRT!? Just DIRT?”

Um, yeah. Now that I own close to 200 acres of COUNTY farmland 99% of which is tagged green space, I pay less in taxes in TN than I do on 0.23 acre here in MD, and part of it is being farmed, a greenhouse being set up.

All those brokers will be looking at their gold, and silver, platinum and palladium asking themselves why THEY didn’t buy “just DIRT!” when it was still possible.

Oh, and you need a community. I’m close to Amish, very close with half a dozen neighbors.

THAT’s the kind of investment that pays dividends through hyperinflationary cycles.

even varible rate loans usually have caps on how much they can go up over a set period of time.

Interesting, I’ve already done nearly all the suggestions I’ve read here.

Right now silver is almost impossible to buy from my sources.

Gold is still pretty easy to find. I’ve been collecting silver & gold fir many years.

I was telling anyone who would listen to buy Tesla and BTC at the end of 2019. I did short term equities trading in the months after Covid hit and got in to some stocks like XOM at their bottom. That kind of trading was fun but too time consuming.

We have several systems mining Ethereum and that’s been very profitable the last few months.

Buy low, sell high, collect early, pay late:)

I used to remember a prepper/adventurist/camping topic on here a while back. I found it and the person, why, because They have done YEARS of this and presented it here for US to learn from. This is our effort of Personal Respect to

Oshkalaboomboom and helpers.

The reality we see in front of us is hard to grasp unless we start thinking like we are going to go through the same as we have seen in other coup related Countries throughout history.

Most will roll eyes, most will mock or throw stones, but none of you last year thought we would be under Totalitarian ( dont kid yourselves that it is not ) control.

Firstly a great many very experienced people are on here and also lurk, my family and myself are Not experts, you want that then your a day short and a dollar lost.

So the good news is that this thread will give you some ideas that are rational and functional, as well as being scary, why scary, because we are living in this now and it is not a movie or a game, or shall we be back to “normal” PDJT style American Security any time soon.

Bug In - wrote on this a while back, and the thread stopped, but I think it was due to the fact people still have the psyop in their head that Preppers or Survivalists are nut jobs. The Media did a great job on making people look stupid, till they held their Coup, now how stupid are those two groups. They actually are the ones who were Not asleep or lulled into cotton candy land.

I can write more on Bugging In if it looks like it shall be needed.

Bugging out.

The web is full of BS sites from all those who thought it was great to just become web salesmen for the companies that wanted their goods sold. They did well, but most the time the info was rubbish as was the purchased results. This is why we will give “Suggestions” and not brand names or any sort of sales pitch, we do not have the smarts for all that, and it is to late to get on that wagon anyway.

Noone talks about “what If” but if they do it involves moving people, and supplies from one spot to another, hopefully in safety.

SHTF city - If your still stuck in a city then you best know how to walk and crawl out of it into the suburbs and beyond. As mentioned I will write about this is asked.

SHTF - Urban - Same as above, but you got to know that if you think you are going to hop into that beast and drive out to your Bugout location then you best learn that two things shall be in play. The Tornado Effect and the Greed Effect.

Whenever you see the Weather centre say get the heck out of dodge (think florida) you have the roads going one way, you have things planned out on where you are heading and etc.

Now think Armed groups and individuals, and the gangs and groups that run the inner suburbs, so insert key and your away. No, though you may get to the first street corner when you turn onto the highway or any sort of arterial roadway you are going to meet a few things.

Everyone else trying to do the same, Many do not have a 1/4 a tank of gas or food etc so they block the roads to get these things form those who come upon them, And the “Authorities” name them what you like that shall and have practised blockade tactics to hold all those within an area in that area.

So unless your in a concrete and steel fortress, you are going to have to either get most your stuff out into your Safe Location and then use a combination of these four items. Motorbike, 4x4 ATV, Bicycle, and your own two feet.

For those who have a big dozer type setup with ballistic coverings, your going to be ok till you hit the roads, sorry, logical not hollywood.

If it takes gas to run it you have a finite ability to carry what you need unless using a trailer as well as your supplies. For a Bicycle and feet you carry what you can.

Now a help on that matter, because you SHALL become wise to the facts that becoming a transient is infact what you shall become. Tough luck, the Unicorn Bus services do not run during any form of lawless scenario.

Needs, 5 speed TRAIL Bicycle with FAT no-flat tyres. you need extras like spokes and tyres (in case) and cables (speed changes)

Needs, a Trailer for the Bicycle, dual purpose (you got to carry food, shelter BOB and etc. etc.

A trailer is not dumb, nor is it stupid, if you think so then why do you see all the displaced in all the news footages showing people dragging old trailers, carts, anything they can get that rolls and carry weight.

The Bike Breaks or is Damaged - Here is one, NO, it is Not the best, it is Not what we are saving for (we have two different ones) The pic is for Walking out.

Told you walking shall be on the list - Try carrying an over weight pack and armament when you are unfit, cannot carry weight, are too young to carry body weight, etc. So how do you do it.

Use a trailer to carry your gear as you walk, make SURE it has a Fast Release harness so if engaged you are going to be able to drop the trailer and be active in a heartbeat, and not just trying to run to cover with a 60lbs pack and kids and etc. all in the same boat, slow, falling over and easy non dodging targets.

Yes it did mention up the top of this page about reality.

https://ufile.io/jh3oy9rw

That is a personal trailer, again, not good, nor the best but now you get the idea at least.

I have more info, but so do many more on here, and to be sure they have more insight into this than My family and I do, but if we did not share, then everyone would be rushing out to buy metal that cannot be eaten, or paper that is worthless as soon as it is changed to something else.

Love you All, learn to barter!!!

Blessings.

the other thing you can do if you have bought multiple homes with minimum down is to sell one of the inflated price homes to pay off the others.

Either way, you want maximum possible loans of assets that will go up in value.

Because they are available anywhere there is a network. The internet would not go down like that. Too many government agencies, utilities, etc need it to operate. And there only need to be a few nodes operating to handle the traffic.

The Bitcoin network is literally more robust than the Fed system.

And, like gold or silver, they would be converted to currency during the early stages. Anyone with sense has been diversifying regularly so as to not find themselves standing around a desolate situation without any means of living.

Maybe not an “investment” to store your wealth, but I would recommend everyone find some salt on sale and get at least a few years worth for personal use (including food preservationl and maybe more for trade. Most suburban backyards could produce enough ag-product to feed a family, except for salt.

Sugar might be a close second to salt in that regard... Not evergone can keep bees.

Only an idiot hoards gold to USE during a collapse. I bet any Japanese that still had their gold stash was much happier by 1948 or so. Gold let’s you rebuild after the crash.

Not to mention it’s the first thing the government looks to when it needs more money. You can’t pick it up and take it somewhere else, and as taxes go up, the market goes down.

No matter how much ammo you have, it will run out eventually. Learn to make and use a bow, a spear, an atlatl, a trident, booby traps, deadfalls, forge knives, swords, shields etc. Learn how to make black powder, even gun powder.

Importantly, learn all the ways to make fire from scratch. Don’t neglect learning first aid by heart, identifying and using native medicinal plants
