Acclaimed essayist and novelist Ta-Nehisi Coates has been hired to pen the script for a feature reboot of Superman that will be produced by J.J. Abrams.
“To be invited into the DC Extended Universe by Warner Bros., DC Films and Bad Robot is an honor,” said Coates in a statement to Shadow and Act, a website dedicated to the African diaspora in the arts. “I look forward to meaningfully adding to the legacy of America's most iconic mythic hero."
“There is a new, powerful and moving Superman story yet to be told. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the brilliant Mr. Coates to help bring that story to the big screen, and we’re beyond thankful to the team at Warner Bros. for the opportunity,” said J.J. Abrams in the statement to S&A.

Jar Jar Abrams is Satan’s child.
As a self-loathing leftist jew, his racist hostility, contempt, and hatred for white males has been obvious for many years now.
Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
As if Superman hasn’t been ruined enough.
Oh great. A woke, America-hating “man” of steel. Just what we need in this country right now.
Agreed. Why all the wonton destruction fighting Zod. How many thousands were killed? Yes, Batman Vs. Superman answered some that.
Justice sucked though Flash and Aquaman were funny. WW84 was 100 times worse. No real plot.
The TV shows are good. The new Superman and Lois is REALLY good.
Just awful. This is will not end well.
Supernegro ?
Is it ok for a white man to play MLK in a movie about his life? A Hispanic woman to cover Whitney Houston songs?
Or an Asian playing sax in a Branford Marsalis movie?
Blacks despise every other race.
Zack Snyder & David S. Goyer: Nobody can RUIN Superman WORSE than us!!! We have utterly DESTROYED iconic DC characters! BWAHAHAA!!
JJ Abrams and "Ta-Nehisi: "Ya wanna bet? Hold my beer..."

That's a VERY interesting, somewhat related topic to this thread.
When I first heard about that TV series, I was dead set AGAINST "yet another Superman reboot telling the same story we've seen a zillion times before". The title itself sounded like they weren't even trying. Didn't they ALREADY make that in the 90s? When it was called Lois & Clark, and starred Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher in a "modernized" Superman TV series told from the POV of Lois Lane at The Daily Planet?
Then I saw the trailer for this new show. One word: WOW.
They NAILED it. It immediately reversed my position on this TV series 180o degrees. I haven't seen a "retelling" of Superman's origins THIS good since the Christopher Reeve films of the late 70s/early 80s. All the actors are pitch perfect and faithful to the source material and we FINALLY have a FUN, uplifting, inspirational Superman -- something even the 2006 "Superman Returns" film-- a "loose sequel" to the Donner films -- totally missed the boat on. All they need is the iconic John Williams theme and my heart will melt. This trailer BETTER not be a fake out.
I'm utterly stunned, especially since this is another "superhero" show on the CW, the SJW infested, teen angsty drama themed network that gave us "woke" trash like lesbian "Batwoman" and decided to blackwash Jimmy Olsen into a 6'5" suave black dude names "James Olsen" for their "Supergirl" TV series.
I was honestly prepared to hate it, but this trailer has totally piqued my interest for the show. I can't think of the last time a freakin' TRAILER completely reversed my position on something. Check it out for yourselves:
Better than Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher? That was a good show.
I’m not sure which is worse, Kunta Kinte or whatever his name is or JJ ***king Abrams.
I believe that “the entertainment industry” does everything via algorithms, just like every other industry.
So...garbage in = garbage out. All under the “direction” of the Commisar-du-jour.
There was one in the main Superman comic, when Superman was dead again, and five Supermen stepped forward, one of them a rebellious teenager, and another a black man who was a descendant of John Henry, I think, and had a steel armor suit that gave him super powers, sort of like Iron Man. One of them was really an alien agent, spearheading an invasion, and I forget what the other two were.
you can tell writers and producers with no talent...they do the fallowing and think it is creative...same character but as a bay, same character but is a women, same character but is black. or they take the character and insert there own character and steal the name. this happens becouse they think they can use the emotions tied to the character to sell something that they have failed to sell to those who are a fan of the entertainment they defile.
Sure! We had our own real life answer to Dr. Strange:
Magic Negro! "For my next trick I'll make all this reserve money vanish then reappear on a tarmac in Iran! Ta-da!"
BTW, avoid WW84 - total waste of time and effort.

Where’s No. 5?
