South Dakota’s attorney general — who said he hit a deer after fatally striking a pedestrian last year — allegedly had the victim’s glasses inside his car, according to newly-released interviews.
The state’s Department of Public Safety on Tuesday released recordings of investigators questioning Jason Ravnsborg about the Sept. 12 crash that left 55-year-old Joseph Boever dead.
The footage shows how, during a Sept. 14 interview, detectives told Ravnsborg that they had discovered a pair of broken glasses on the front passenger floorboard of his vehicle. During a second sit-down on Sept. 30, interviewers asked about the glasses again, telling Ravnsborg that they had belonged to the victim.

He did a hit, then collected a trophy, then ran, and he’s their AG?
It should be a murder charge.
This is a Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew show!
Victim’s head came thru his windshield
Wow!
Sounds like the second season of Fargo.
Disgusting.
Ugh. And he must be claiming he thought it was a deer’s head!
Becoming the AG does not change you from a slimy lawyer into a virtuous public servant.
Accidents happen, honest accidents happen.
Using his position and double talk ‘legal speak’ to avoid responsibility highlight the slime in slimy lawyer.
My prediction is he beats the charges but his political life has ended.
👍
he’s a lawyer. For crying out loud, did you expect him to tell the “truth”. If you want the “truth”, you’re sure as hell not gonna get it from a lawyer, EVEN after you pay him!
Is this article claiming that the AG said, "After I fatally struck a pedestrian last year, I hit a deer"?
Regards,
I shot a deer wearing my glasses. How he got them on I’ll never know!
So I'd say the victim got out and then the AG hit him.
“They’re Joe’s glasses,” an agent says, referring to Boever. “So that means his face came through your windshield.”
Upon hearing that, Ravensborg looked down and sighed deeply, before shaking his head, the footage shows.
“I did not see those glasses until you showed them to me,” he said.

It sounds like the guy is claiming he didn’t see the glasses there and believed he had hit a deer. And obviously if he HAD seen the glasses and knew he hit a person, he would have tossed the glasses somewhere.
I find it hard to believe that hitting a deer hard enough to have it go through your windshield, you wouldn’t stop and investigate things. Look for other damage, look for the injured deer, etc.
I’ve had an encounter three times with deer. One was minor and it ran off. One was moderate and the deer was laying in the ditch with broken legs and “crying” and trying to get up. I shot it to put it out of it’s misery. Both of those ran into the side of my vehicle.
The last time I was forced to stop. It totaled my vehicle.
Try to not get any of the tar on the rope........it is reusable.
Yeah because a deer looks and weighs so much like a human.
He’s got to go.
Hope you got some venison out of encounters 2 and 3
I hit a deer. It’s kind a regular out these parts. Pow! It was there. Then, pow!, it went flying over the top of my car. I stopped to check for car damage. Then, drove to the nearest gas station to call in the accident and await further instructions. Nowadays, you’d probably can call the accident in with a cell phone. Anyway, I was told I could drive the car home and have it inspected the next day, or have the car towed from that place to a nearby garage. I drove the car home, and it was totaled the next day. Oh do you not see that it’s a deer? Yes, it was a split second, but it gets your attention.
