REVEALED: Parler’s New CEO Wants Convention That Would Let George Soros Rewrite The Constitution
National File ^ | Feb 21 | JACK HADFIELD

Posted on 02/21/2021 1:09:03 PM PST by RandFan

Mark Meckler, the new interim CEO of Parler, currently supports a Convention of States that could give George Soros and other interests the power to rewrite the Constitution. Meckler, who was appointed as interim CEO of Parler following the removal of founder John Matze, currently runs the Convention of States Project, a supposed “grassroots” organization pushing for a convention under Article V of the Constitution.

The project describes itself as a “national effort to call a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution, restricted to proposing amendments that will impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit its power and jurisdiction, and impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress,” which initially sounds appealing.

However, a report by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities argued that such a restriction on an Article V convention would be impossible, with states unable to control what a convention could and could not discuss, and nobody else having clear constitutional control over the convention.

Former Chief Justice Warren Burger wrote in 1988 that “there is no way to effectively limit or muzzle the actions of a Constitutional Convention. The Convention could make its own rules and set its own agenda. Congress might try to limit the Convention to one amendment or one issue, but there is no way to assure that the Convention would obey. After a Convention is convened, it will be too late to stop the Convention if we don’t like its agenda.”

Conservative Justice Antonin Scalia echoed this sentiment in 2014. “I certainly would not want a constitutional convention,” said Scalia. “Whoa! Who knows what would come out of it?”

“Glad to know you must have the time to read every article of every thread you post to.”

I don’t read every article but I know enough to not make ignorant posts on those I don’t read.

“Some of us have other priorities.”

LOL!

I think that’s going to require a revolution not a civil war.

Here’s a simple example of tyranny v. self-government.

Five lawyers on the scotus declare faggotry and fag marriage are rights. They don’t say of what sort. Are they natural, civil, or political rights? It doesn’t matter to our Leftist masters.

Short of an Article V COS there is nothing hundreds of millions of We the People can do to REVERSE LAW WRITTEN BY FIVE ‘EFFING LAWYERS.

OTOH, We the People constitutionally passed the 18th Amendment. This is self-government.

What if scotus declared the manufacture of alcohol unconstitutional? This is tyranny of the worst sort because like faggotry and fag marriage, We the People couldn’t do anything to reverse the outrage.

But since the 18th Amendment was passed constitutionally, it was soon repealed.

Forget elections for now. Restore self-government through Article V.

The typical Freeper equates an Article V COS with Congress.

They think the states will send, with plenary power, a schlub to a COS to do as he desires.

The relationship between the states and their delegates will be as that of a principal to an attorney. The attorney has no power not granted by the principal.

This simple yet ages-old concept is apparently over the heads of many.

Please reread post #138. How to you limit the scope?

You keep saying we have safeguards and that it cannot happen, but I am showing you that it already did. According to your logic, our Constitution is unconstitutional. So how did that happen?

How do you keep it from happening, again?

An Article V Convention should only happen if Conservatives can control it.

As long as there are Pelosi and Schumer types hanging around we need to be in "protecting the Constitution" mode and not "opening up the Constitution to any rat/weasel" mode.

Like the truth or not, radical socialists have radical plans for the convention. Legislators in the states along with their big municipal interests would have that moment with no need to fear any future reactions from voters. It would certainly be a moment for Mr. Hyde to come out and crush our Republic into submission.

It’s a trap!

Republicans have control of 30, I think, state legislatures. When they have control of 34; and they have corrected the mail-in balloting mess, where applicable, I’ll back a COS...Provided each state’s application contains a rule that forbids the convention from increasing federal power in any way....

The country club Republicans in the states would pair up with the left in such a convention to “clarify” our Second Amendment with another amendment. And that would be only one of the evils you’d see.

Don’t do it! Find out which of your state legislators has supported an Article V Convention and vote against them. They’re either stupid or prepared to stab us in the back for payoffs from the world’s billionaires and absolute control over you.

Please read the history of the Articles of Confederation. The last time we had a constitutional convention to address shortfalls in the constitution, the delegates agreed to scrap it altogether and draft a new one.

Even though the old one specified that changes could only be made with the approval of the Continental Congress and all the state legislatures, the delegates simply decided that 9 of 13 was enough.

We know the left is itching to get rid of the Electoral College. We know the left doesn’t like the Senate and the fact that little WY gets two votes. I am thinking that their cancel culture will easily rid us of 1A, 2A, 4A, and 5A. After all, disinformation, institutional racism, domestic terrorism, and, duh, guns.

I would expect a Constitutional Convention would quickly turn the republic into a Parlimentary State where popular votes build factions, and factions make up the government.

I wish that someone could convince me that I am wrong.

Fake news. COS is our om hope. The only thing that can come out of it are proposed amendments, that still need to be ratified by 38 states.

Term Limits!!!

If all it takes is the mention of Soros in a hit piece on COS for conservatives to lose their bladders, we deserve all the socialism that can be stuffed down our throats. It’s amazing how easily manipulated we are. The last thing Soros wants is a COS that put limits on the elite he has bought.

All hail second class citizenship! No COS for us. We love the status quo. No one can take our chains, but we’ll give you our rights, Lord Soros!

Pathetic.

“.First Amendment, 2nd Amendment, entire Bill of Rights will disappear. Branches of government silliness will likely include a transgender sexual orientation Czar, and a Commission for Reparations, and a Fair Wage Control czar.”

Please explain exactly how 38 states would ratify any such ammendments. Because that is what it would take.

Or are you spouting nonsense?
