Republicans have control of 30, I think, state legislatures. When they have control of 34; and they have corrected the mail-in balloting mess, where applicable, I’ll back a COS...Provided each state’s application contains a rule that forbids the convention from increasing federal power in any way....
Please read the history of the Articles of Confederation. The last time we had a constitutional convention to address shortfalls in the constitution, the delegates agreed to scrap it altogether and draft a new one.
Even though the old one specified that changes could only be made with the approval of the Continental Congress and all the state legislatures, the delegates simply decided that 9 of 13 was enough.
We know the left is itching to get rid of the Electoral College. We know the left doesn’t like the Senate and the fact that little WY gets two votes. I am thinking that their cancel culture will easily rid us of 1A, 2A, 4A, and 5A. After all, disinformation, institutional racism, domestic terrorism, and, duh, guns.
I would expect a Constitutional Convention would quickly turn the republic into a Parlimentary State where popular votes build factions, and factions make up the government.
I wish that someone could convince me that I am wrong.
