Portland police say officers “remained out of sight as much as possible” after being pelted with snowballs by protesters, who would go on to damage multiple businesses after the police retreat.
Portland, Oregon continues to deal with protests turning violent, even though police are bending over backward to stay out of sight – according to the latest police statements on Friday’s violent protest.
Despite heavy snowfall, 30 to 50 protesters marched on Friday night to the Central Precinct, according to the Portland Police Department. The demonstrators proceeded to throw snowballs at police vehicles and then at officers when they left the station to move the vehicles to prevent damage.
“Quit your job!” protesters yelled at officers as they were pelted with snowballs. The cops did not engage.
Police eventually moved back inside the precinct and locked the doors, ignoring protesters. The department defended the decision as “an effort to avoid confrontation and de-escalate the situation.”

Well the only video I saw were of 2 policemen walking to the station. Where are the police is the right question to ask.
I think the police in Portland are doing all they can, but the prosecutor just lets the rioters go. Some of them have been arrested dozens of times. All the police can do is get them off the streets for a few hours.
I keep thinking back to that incident in Washington DC, where the police allowed Antifa violence against a President Trump supporter, and then arrested another who was trying to protect her. In response, a US Vet yelled “We were on your side. Now you have both sides against you.”
How many agents were dispatched to Talladega within hours of reports of a “noose” in a black NASCAR driver’s garage?
Then it will never stop. I remember the police themselves asking why they should arrest them when many are released and never prosecuted, but at some point they have to say enough is enough.
One of the major issues we have in society is lack of punishment — at every level — which leads to more disruptive behavior and lawlessness, not less.

Someone should ask the question “Has Biden called either the mayor of Portland or the Gov of Oregon and told them to put an end to the rioting? He is, after all, the “president” and the head of the Media-Dem Party.

It is VERY sad...Portland used to be a great place...20 plus years ago...now it’s one of commie centers of the west coast. We lived in NW Portland....the burbs are still okay...for now...
