I would say that the new case numbers are looking good these days.

For the 3rd day in a row, there have been fewer than 100k new cases. The last time cases were below 100k was Nov 4, 2020.

In addition to decreased numbers of new cases, on 3 days during the past week, the total number of active cases has dropped. There has never been a drop of total active cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Deaths are on the high side today, but deaths are a lagging indicator. People who have a fatal case usually die between 2 and 6 weeks after infection.

Overall, numbers look good.

I agree with you. All indications are both natural and vaccine immunity carry over to the new variants significantly. The new variant might slow the decline in new cases and deaths, but between vaccinations and natural immunity, the decline will continue. I suspect the "youtube doctor" wants lots of clicks.

There are many fear mongering about the vaccine. All BS without any data. This is new type of vaccine, not made from actual virus like the flu vaccine. There is no data history on this type of vaccine so it is pure conjecture and BS.

Vaccine is the best approach to herd immunity.

If these numbers are true, then instead of 425,000 deaths from covid, there are actually only 25,000 deaths, with 80% of those coming from people over 70 years of age.

And yet the entire population has suffered through wearing masks, social distancing, lockdowns, loss of income and livelihoods, as well as hundreds of thousands of small businesses disappearing off the face of the map for what looks to be something no worse that a bad cold.

Not to speak of giving the democRATS an excuse to require mail-in ballots in the 2020 election and cheat President Trump out of his second term through blatant election fraud and no telling how many other cheating voting schemes the democRATS engaged in.

Somebody should go to jail over this but as usual, these are democRATS, so don't hold your collective breaths.

#5. The real question is whether the “new variant” of the virus is killing a lot of people, or whether it is only affecting a lot of people with less fatal results than the original COVID 19 strain.
