I would say that the new case numbers are looking good these days.

For the 3rd day in a row, there have been fewer than 100k new cases. The last time cases were below 100k was Nov 4, 2020.

In addition to decreased numbers of new cases, on 3 days during the past week, the total number of active cases has dropped. There has never been a drop of total active cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Deaths are on the high side today, but deaths are a lagging indicator. People who have a fatal case usually die between 2 and 6 weeks after infection.

Overall, numbers look good.

We should see a huge drop in daily deaths by March.
