(CNN)Dustin Diamond, who played the role of Screech on the popular 1990s high school comedy "Saved by the Bell," died Monday after a recent cancer diagnosis, according to Diamond's manager, Roger Paul.
He was 44. Diamond first shared news of his cancer diagnosis last month. At the time, his manager said his client's health was "serious" and that Diamond was undergoing further testing at a Florida hospital. He underwent his first round of chemotherapy days later. An actor and stand-up comedian, Diamond found fame playing Samuel "Screech" Powers for more than a decade on the "Saved by the Bell" franchise.

He must have been in an advanced state.
RIP
Was he the actor who scared everybody else in the cast because they thought he was crazy?...............
I read somewhere he was diagnosed at stage 4 just a few weeks ago.
I was just reading about his cancer scare yesterday, and how he was not doing the reboot... R.I.P.
44, way too soon. RIP.
I know most of you don’t care about this stuff, but I was always under the impression that Dustin Diamond was the brother of Mike Diamond from The Beastie Boys. They do share a facial resemblance, however I’ve never been able to verify if they are indeed related.
“”He also faced some legal troubles, serving three months in jail for stabbing a man during a 2014 altercation at a bar in Wisconsin.”
Man, he went a sideways from his days at Bayside.
Rest in Peace Screech.
Too young to go. RIP.
WTH?
I Screeched when I heard this
Rest in Peace...
I was too old to watch the show but the few times I did see it the show was very clean and wholesome...almost a 90’s version of a 50’s sitcom.
Wayyyy too young. Sort of sad the way he was typecast. Then he makes some shaky life decisions, and here we are.
hollyweird certainly doesn’t give a rat’s ass. This is just rinse/repeat for them.
If Tiffani needs any comfort, I’m here for her btw.
I don’t remember Tiffany, but I sure remember Kelly...
Excellent believable actor. He had a good run. RIP
He had stage 4 small cell carcinoma, its very very aggressive..poor guy I read he was in the hospital a few weeks ago he had no idea he even had cancer til he was in such severe pain he was taken to the hospital..RIP Dustin
Yes I read that story today. Given an average of 5 months to live. Sad
He’s been on a downward spiral for decades. Would not surprise me if suicide and this report is just to save the family from anymore grief that he’s caused. RIP though.
