It’s clear that one of Walmart’s competitive advantages is our stores. And today, stores are transforming to serve more and more purposes – we’re using them to fill pickup and delivery orders, make Walmart.com deliveries and more. We have a great operation that will serve us well for years to come, but we aren’t stopping there.
Our customers love the speed and convenience of pickup and delivery, and we’re committed to finding faster ways to serve them, which is why we’re scaling the number of stores that will also serve as local fulfillment centers. We’re already planning dozens of locations, with many more to come.
A local fulfillment center (LFC) is a compact, modular warehouse built within, or added to, a store. In addition to fresh and frozen items, LFCs can store thousands of the items we know customers want most, from consumables to electronics.

Good news.
I have tried walmart delivery. Amazon still beats them. I support my parents in assisted living in Florida, so fast delivery is still a priority.
Robots vs. Joe Biden’s $15.00 per hour minimum wage. What could go wrong?
I certainly get that.
I try to support Walmart when I can.
They just delivered something I ordered, yesterday. I bet it czz as me from a nearby store.
I think I’ve only been to a Walmart once - there isn’t one near enough to us (we don’t like to drive a lot.)
Why does everyone like them so much?
Now thanks to China Joe, more and more people are going to be herded into Walmart/Amazon because higher energy costs will decimate what's left of small businesses.
That really should’ve been their strategy from day 1 going against Amazon. A quick deal with the post office for deliveries FROM their stores and boom - instant delivery network. (Their website still sux tho).
Sears was STILL in the perfect position to do this but they botched the whole thing up.
I hope Walmart can compete with Amazon, but Walmart’s site is not nearly as user friendly as Amazon’s. Amazon makes it so much easier to find what I want.
I know Walmart is NOT perfect HOWEVER I have completely dumped Amazon and switched to Walmart have been VERY HAPPY to find same free delivery service WITHOUT a membership AND they have not as of yet squashed our free speech!! SCREW AMAZON and I was a Amazon junky!!! I have spent THOUSANDS on Amazon DONE!!!
Is an easier website MORE IMPORTANT than standing up for your constitution??? Just askin!!
We try to avoid both and usually can.
Same here.
I was thinking this may be the way of the future. Stores become smaller as people order online and pick up at the store. Much like how Sears, Penny’s and other stores had pickup locations for catalog purchases.
I miss the ebooks the most. That is something Wal-Mart needs to duplicate fast.
I ordered 2 each, 5lb containers of honey roasted peanuts online from Walmart. After dark, I heard a knock on the door. It was a young lady dropping off the peanuts I had ordered earlier. I ask her if she came all the away out just to drop off my order, she said she had other deliveries, but yes, they would bring out whatever we ordered that was stocked at the store. Since, then, I’ve ordered many other items and they’ve delivered them that day or the next.
But Idiocracy said it would be Costco
