There are barely any of them at Natural Bridges or Pacific Grove. It seems like it happened in one year.

I heard that there is a Chinese variety of milkweed that is overtaking the natural milkweed and that this is contributing to the Monarch butterfly die-off.

In Michigan they have a program to encourage people to kill the Chinese milkweed and plant natural milkweed.

And no, I am not making up the Chinese part.

Maybe the Monarchs just couldn’t carry enough weight
to make it profitable, so they were offed.

Ahhhh, the Monarch Butterflies. Wasn’t that the species who had no capability to fly through the slats or over the Border Wall?

Their natural range is over the entire USA, Mexica, and northern South America.

Also Indonesia, New Zealand, and eastern Australia.

Q: A drop of 100% means how many percent is left?

The solution isn’t difficult. Grab a milkweed pod when it ripens, and scatter the seeds in your yard. Makr it a designated place where you don’t mow. The butterflies will come.

100% drop. Doesn’t it mean that they are already extinct?

Over 90% - over, WAY over – 90% of all the species that have ever lived on this planet, ever lived, are gone! Pwwt! They’re extinct! We didn’t kill them all, they just disappeared. That’s what nature does. They disappear these days at the rate of 25 a day and I mean regardless of our behaviour. Irrespective of how we act on this planet, 25 species that were here today will be gone tomorrow. Let them go gracefully. Leave nature alone. Haven’t we done enough?
