I think people here know that I’m a doctor.
I just completed the second shot of the two dose Pfizer vaccine. I felt virtually nothing after the first shot and nothing after the second shot given about 15 hours ago.
The injection consists of only 0.3 ml. Contrast that with the flu vaccine that is 0.5 ml.
The first shot helps your body recognize the virus, and the second revs up your immune system.
As you know, 99% of those infected with the virus recover fully. On the other hand there is a small percentage that recover but not fully. We call these people “long haulers.”
You might want to read up about them as many are formally very healthy even athletic.
Don’t be afraid of this shot. I recommend that you take it when it becomes available.
All vaccines kill some people, but the majority die in travel accidents going to or from getting them.
From some of the comments, it looks like many on FR use the same tactics and mindset of the far Left - if ignorance truly is bliss, we have many truly happy people here.
I’m still not a fan but the ignorance of so many here may convince me to try it - kind of like, as they are wont to say something like, “If that idiot Dem thinks it’s bad, then it must be good.”
I’m starting to think that about a lot of FReepers lately - I’m hoping it’s just a temporary emotional imbalance due to the prolonged attack on our FReedoms and all the bad/contradictory info that has been spread from the onset of the bug.
I am not anti vax.
Going to get the MMR II since i probably had that funky measles vax in the 60s. That situation right there shows the problem with vaccines.
Getting it just in case there is cross reactivity
Not getting moderna or pfizer rush jobs.
Did a third eye start growing out of your forehead yet?
I don’t understand...
If you’re a doctor, then you KNOW that the fatality rate of this virus is minuscule. You have to know that more people die tripping over roller skates.
WHY would anyone bother with a vaccine, especially when faced with those numbers?
We’ve lived just fine with so many other viruses and society hasn’t panicked and closed down.
I’m not trying to be a smart aleck here. It as a DOCTOR, you should know better. In this world, there is sickness. We DO all get sick and that is how our immune system builds.
And the Dr taking hqc and ivermectin and prednisone and zpac early on still ended up in hospital with bilateral pneumonia
There is just no way to know how bad it will be for you until you get it.
Thank you for posting this, and congrats!
I acquired covid-19 immunity by going on the Carnival cruise ending on February 29, 2020.
The cruise had mostly all SE asian crew and was jam packed.
Upon disembarking from ship I had a dry cough for 2 weeks and it went away by itlself. At the time covid was not much in news so just thought it was normal cold.
As you all know Florida is wide open, I never stopped normal routine of going to sea food restaurants along beach highway A1A and weekly visits for groceries and tons of visits to Lowes & Home Depot. Yes I am 80 years young.
I would guess that if there is something harmful in the vaccine, it will come in a future version when it becomes matter of fact and maybe becomes part of the flu vaccine and more people are inclined to trust it. I think the events over the last couple years are too strange to discount anything. I have never followed any conspiracy theories but I found this interview from this Fitts woman very compelling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVuA98P4aA8 I know when I saw it after it was first realeased it had over 1 million views quickly. Then it disappeared from youtube. So this version will probably be gone soon enough also.
Same here. But I wonder: for how long? I've read that we could have immunity anywhere from several months to a lifetime. It would be helpful if the "authorities" could give us some guidance.
Thanks for your post. My wife & I had our 1st Moderna a week ago and could barely feel the injections site. My daughter had her 2nd Pfizer, no reaction to either, but she had friends who felt lousy after the 2nd. Our daughter-in-law, who we know had Covid in early March from a blood test 2-3 months later, had her 1st Moderna and said it felt like her arm was going to fall off. I kind of wonder if those who have the more severe side effects may have had the virus previously, many without knowing.
For those out there that think it can’t hurt you; in the 2 weeks starting Christmas day, I lost 2 patients, one was 48 yr old, I also lost 2 colleagues. One of the colleagues, 70 yr old, was a marathon runner.
What are the long term effects?
Follow shawn skeltons case and see how long it takes for her bizarre symptoms to go away.
There are too many unanswered questions and what I think are bogus or misleading stats being reported surrounding this issue to make a truly informed decision. If you are satisfied good for you but don’t lump everyone that doesn’t share your level of satisfaction into the dimwit pool.
Congratulations!
Now that you got shot up, we expect morning, noon and evening editions of CGs! a midnight edition would be a bonus!
Chop chop get to work!
I’ve never received a flu shot. The last tetanus shot I received was in 2011. That arm hurt for four years. I swore off any shots from then on even though I’m expiring this year. I intend to stay away, not even look at rusty nails from now on.
I'm sorry but that is just so naive. Nothing happened in a couple of days so it is safe? "I ingested mercury and 15 minutes later felt fine. It's all clear people, start ingesting..."
Especially with the something as incredibly complex as the immune system, many times bad results don't show up for months or even years.
They hysteria has been over the top for the “nursing home disease” as most others are relatively unaffected.
There’s been no adjustment to this with the massive harm down to many tens of millions and their families.
So many have been utterly destroyed.
Well, make up your mind already. LOL!
You have your mark of the beast and I’ll designate mine.
For 20 years we were told by the “medical experts” how margerine was much better for you than butter. Now we know horribly wrong that “expert” opinion was. The list of examples like that is endless.
