President Trump acknowledged that he bears some blame for the Capitol riot last week during a conversation with House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, a source familiar told Fox News.
Two sources say McCarthy R-Calif., relayed the president’s sentiment on a call Monday with the House GOP Conference.
McCarthy, on the call Monday with Republicans, agreed that Trump bore blame for the unrest which sent Congress into lockdown as they tried to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election last week.
The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The riot left five people dead, including one Capitol Police officer.
The riot came after the president spoke at a rally last Wednesday, telling supporters that he would "never concede," and repeated unsubstantiated claims that the election was "stolen" from him and that he won in a "landslide."
During his remarks, he renewed pressure on Vice President Pence, claiming that he should decertify the results of the presidential election and send it "back to the states," claiming that if he did that, Trump would be president for another four years.
Trump’s remarks came ahead of a joint session of Congress to certify the results of the presidential election. As members of the House and Senate raised objections to certain electoral votes, both chambers called for a recess and left their chambers as pro-Trump protesters breached the Capitol building.

The thread "we are posting in" is a RUMOR thread ("two sources") about President Trump. There is NO WAY he accepted any responsibility for the violence at the Capitol. I'm aware of the reports on the cop's death, and if the cop died as a result of injuries and not a medical event (heart attack or stroke, as some other reports indicated), then I'm still saying the President had no hand in that. Agents provocateur did the violent breach, not our side.
I guess you would have preferred the tens of thousands of conservatives would have been better off sitting at home. Bitching and moaning on the internet. Without going to DC and in a sense rolling over and letting The Steal happen without any action?

One "victim" commited suicide days after the riot. Yet everyone considers him a victim of "Trump's Riot". I am beyond floored at how that idiot conclusion was arrived at. One victim was trampled that day. And another had a stroke or heart attack.
The people came to DC to support Trump and protest a fraud of an election. That does not in any way put any responsibility for any violence or damage on Trump. And I’ll bet that is what Trump said. mccarthy is a snake just like pence and the rest of the republican party. How long are we going to let these POSs do this crap to us?
The riot started over an hour before the end of the speech. I'll have to go back and see if President Trump said he would never conceed. President Trump's claims were substantial and factual. These facts were ignored by the House and Senate in a rush job to accept the illegal electors. Faux news needs a fact checker. Oh yeah, they get their "facts" from Zuckerberg, Dorsey, and Bezos.
Would somebody please look at the evidence. Instead of just dismissing the accusations out of hand.

But what I want to know is how a suicide victim who killed himself days later can be counted as among the dead from the riot?
Look. Every single one of the protesters there that day will someday die. Using the suicide guy as a standard, then it’s safe to say that tens of thousands deaths will occur as a result of the riot.
Also. Veterans who served in Vietnam are dying all the time. Should their names not be added to the Vietnam Memorial Wall in DC?

I went to a Major college Football game with 80,000 in attendance.
A security guy (off duty police) tried to throw out a drunk guy and the drunk guy stabbed him and he died.
The other 79,999 were never accused of anything by anyone.
1 out of the 80,000 was responsible.

I am a patriotic American. I believe in the genius of our Founders, and in the profundity of our Founding Documents.
The chair of the Speaker in the chamber of the House of Representatives does NOT belong to Nazi Pelosi. It belongs to the Speaker; and the asshole who was photographed sitting in it did not honor our country or any of its ideals and principles by his crass actions.
Likewise the lectern, the desk, and the jerks who were photographed gleefully carrying the first off, and the one with his feet up on the latter.
I sincerely wish that THOSE people had stayed home. They accomplished nothing - unless, as I suspect, their goal was actually to make us all look bad. They certainly achieved that.
