Fox News announces handful of network lineup changes (MacCallum, Perino, Hemmer, Roberts, Smith Demoted)

Fox News is redoing its lineup, the network announced on Monday. The changes will go into effect on Jan. 18.

Bill Hemmer, the former host of America’s Newsroom, who left that show to take over the 3 p.m. hour after Shepard Smith left the network, will now be co-anchoring the show with Dana Perino from 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

The big lineup change comes during the 3 p.m. hour with Martha MacCallum as the new anchor. Her show previously aired during the 7 p.m. hour, which led into Fox's prime-time lineup of Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham.

The slot previously occupied by MacCallum will now be an opinion host who has yet to be named, but the show is called Fox News Prime-time. The network declined to specify who will be hosting the inaugural episode. MacCallum is billed as an anchor and not an opinion host, so the decision to transform that hour into an opinion show extends its opinion coverage.
