McConnell probably has his own seat via fraud, but also can reportedly make just as much, at least, in payoffs as a Minority Leader as Majority Leader.

It helps if one understands that Mitch is okay with being the minority or majority leader. In fact, the minority leader’s job is probably easier. The pay is the same.

Mitch doesn’t care that much if he becomes Minority Leader. Majority Leader was great, but he’ll still control a sizable minority in the Senate for the time being.
The real question is what will happen to the Republican Party in the future?
Right now it seems to think it can go back to being the party of McCain, Romney, and Bush jr. If this is truly the way they are thinking, they are in for some humiliating years ahead.
