Mitch doesn’t care that much if he becomes Minority Leader. Majority Leader was great, but he’ll still control a sizable minority in the Senate for the time being.
The real question is what will happen to the Republican Party in the future?
Right now it seems to think it can go back to being the party of McCain, Romney, and Bush jr. If this is truly the way they are thinking, they are in for some humiliating years ahead.
There is no Republican Party, now or in the future. Those erstwhile RINOs occupying seats in government are an anachronism, left overs from a bygone Era.
With the new Democrat/Communist election format, Republicans will continue to lose seats by 10 to 30K votes. Always and forevermore. Any third party will suffer the same losing margin.
