Ketchup on eggs can be a subject of intense debate. Is this a combination you grew up with, or is the idea completely foreign to you? Based off of casual conversation here at The Takeout, it’s clear that for every enthusiast, there’s a hater who despise the very idea of Heinz on the breakfast table. And as a condiment, people have very strong feelings about ketchup more generally, like whether or not it belongs on hot dogs or, as we’ve discussed amongst ourselves previously, on burgers. So what do you think? Does ketchup belong on eggs?

Oddly my mustard Mayo decree is more Deep South and from black cooks
Mid south Nashville where I am now it’s not as common
For me the south starts when I cross the Tn river on eye sixty five headed to Mississippi
North Alabama is much more southern than Nashville
Same when headed west on forty
West tennessee is like Mississippi
West side of same river
Sciracha, or PICO but Catsup is for mixing with mayo for fries, or on a hamburger with other sauces.
If you want it...then it absolutely does. Just like it does if you like chocolate chip cookies on top, vodka on top, crunchy frogs, or whatever!
Personally, I love what my wife calls my “Black Eggs”.
Olive oil, heated pretty high in the cast iron skillet, drop the eggs in, some salt, lots of crushed red pepper, and lots of black pepper.
Fry until the edges of the eggs become crispy and brown...:)
Love em. Point is, if you like it, whatever you put on em is fine!

It is time to make a 3-egg scram so I have something to drown with Tabasco! Bye bye.
Pepper Plant!!!
LOL - when I was living in Louisiana, I considered everything north of I-10 to be southern Arkansas, and joked about all those yankees way up north in Shreveport
Fatman has taken its place.
Haven’t seen it. Seems intriguing. Any good?
I won’t eat eggs without ketchup.
As for Tabasco Sauce, contrary to popular belief, pain is not actually a flavor.
McIlhenny is the way to go, but if I'm out, I'll substitute Frank's
Bon Apetit!.............
Whatever you put it on, make sure it’s not Heinz.
I still have hopes of seeing John Kerry impaled on a stake.

No truer words were ever written!
How can you eat eggs without katchup?
How can you eat eggs without katchup?

I call it the heart stopper.
