Story of Adam & Eve's Dog
email from friend | 12/28/2020 | unknown

Adam and Eve said, 'Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see you anymore. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us.'

And God said, I will create a companion for you that will be with you and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourselves.

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam and Eve And it was a good animal and God was pleased .

And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, 'Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal..'

And God said, 'I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG.

And Dog lived with Adam and Eve and was a companion to them and loved them. And they were comforted. And God was pleased. And Dog was content and wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that an angel came to the Lord and said, 'Lord, Adam and Eve have become filled with pride. They strut and preen like peacocks and they believe they are worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught them that they are loved, but perhaps too well.'

And God said, I will create for them a companion who will be with them and who will see them as they are. The companion will remind them of their limitations, so they will know that they are not always worthy of adoration.' And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam and Eve.

And Cat would not obey them. And when Adam and Eve gazed into Cat's eyes, they were reminded that they were not the Supreme Beings.

And Adam and Eve learned humility. And they were greatly improved.

And God was pleased. And Dog was happy.

And the Cat didn't give a s**t one way or the other...

God told Adam “I will create a companion that shares all your interests, a companion of infinite patience and respect where communication and harmony will always be easy. But it will cost you an arm and a leg.

Adam replies. “That’s pricey! What can I get for a rib?”

And the Cat didn't give a s**t one way or the other...

There is no story ever told for which this sentence would not make the perfect ending.

The only problem is the short lifespans of dogs. If you live a long time your heart has been broken by losing a loving companion so many times that it is more like hamburger meat than a heart.

It s incredibly kind of you to adopt senior dogs. The only thing worse than a person that has lost their dog is a dog that has lost their person.

It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are. - Anonymous

The same goes for a cat. My sister-in-law was given a cat several years ago. The cat immediately adopted her. The sister-in-law was in poor health. We think the cat helped to keep her alive for nearly 12 years. Even though she had been a dog person, she came to love that cat.

She passed several months ago. And, we took in the cat.

The cat did its best to adapt, but I could see the sadness in her eyes and her actions. After 6 weeks the cat passed. It had quit eating and drinking, a sure sign that it was going to die.

Ah, but the cat does it’s business in a litter box while Dog poops on the carpet.

One of my favorite parts of Star Trek: The Next Generation is Data’s failed attempts to train his cat Spot. Some androids never learn

Long ago in the beginning, man and the animals were together.
They lived together, they hunted together, and they ate together.
One day, The Great Spirit decided to separate man and the animals.
So, He lined up all the men and all the animals face to face from horizon to horizon and began to open a deep chasm between them.
As the chasm grew, before it got too wide, Dog jumped back across to be with man. And man and dog have been together ever since. 🐶
