Amazed me in the Middle East that Arabs “rank” each other by the lighter skin one has. Dark skin with African features are considered the lowest form of life in the Arab world. I met the first Syrians in my life and thought they were French people. I tried to muddle through with my high school French but found out that they spoke English. We all had a laugh. Many Syrians one meets do look like Europeans.
I have got all my relatives and friends to take D3 supplements. It fixes that every time. It is why Yankees tend to be more dour than southerners.

I remember reading a story in the Washington Post many years ago, where a Black American soldier was quoted. He was involved in some operation in Africa - may have been Somalia; but someplace where the people don’t generally have West African features.
He said that he encountered women there who made fun of his appearance, especially his nose; and he was quoted as saying, ‘I had to go all the way to Africa to be called a ni??er’.
People who think that the US is a ‘racist’ country have very little experience with the rest of the world. We are probably the LEAST ‘racist’ nation in the world today.

Not quite. India had indigenous people before the nomad Aryans invaded india 4 millenniums ago. It was those lighter skinned Aryans responsible for implementing caste system to preserve their race. South Indians have stronger heritage from the indigenous races who were darker skinned. Also south india is closer to equator so stronger sun and more darker skins. People from far north state of Kashmir are usually as light skinned as Europeans.

I knew an African guy(Kenya) who thought black Americans were like “untouchables” and they came from the lowest levels of society in Africa. That’s how they ended up slaves. We had to take him out of hiring processes because he was so prejudiced against them.
But he felt that way about most of eastern Africa as well who he considered to be “riotous cannibals”. Strange dude.
I've never seen that stated like this but it makes a lot of sense. One of my neighbors is from Nigeria and he's got nothing but disdain for the boys in the 'hood.
It’s not exactly true. Like Biblical times, slaves were sometimes people captured or taken after battles. They were then sold to the traders.

Well, in my experience a lot of those so-called ‘lowest level’ who became slaves grew up to be, and reproduced, sterling and often brilliant Americans, who have contributed greatly to our society and history.
I don’t think they use Botox for lips - seems to me that would be the last thing you’d want there.
It’s usually some kind of filler, Hyaluronic or Collagen.
