So we made it to Christmas. It isn’t a normal Christmas by any means: no holiday parties with sloshed colleagues, no late Manhattan nights with red and green lights flickering on chilly streets, no large gatherings or intimacy with our elder kin. As one of the proud New Yorkers who has yet to move to Florida, I can pretty much say that all I want for Christmas is a bar that stays open past 10 p.m.
Gov. Cuomo for well on 10 months has been doing his best John Lithgow impression, turning the most vibrant place in the world into the little town in “Footloose” — no dinners out, no movies, no joy. And he is convinced that Santa has a great present in store for him, even after he presented the restaurant workers of the city with a cold lump of coal, throwing them out of work days before Christmas based on unscientific, evidence-free reasoning.
This muted, quiet, lonely Christmas should inform our New Year’s resolution. Just a few simple words: never again. Say it with me. Never. Again.

Then, we’ll gladly accept phone contact tracing, their quantum dot-tagged vaccine and ImmuniPass card so we can be (more) free again. This was long planned and is now in active implementation in USA.
Stopping it will be like stopping metastasized cancer -- the treatment is invasive, harsh, damaging and possibly deadly.
Everyone has already given up their freedom. What does he mean “never give it up again”?
Very sad and morose article but we are still letting them get away with taking our freedom. Crying won’t bring it back. I guess we will get tough after they take our guns away from us.
We are still allowing them to steal the election. Freedom is gone.
It’s going to be very hard if not impossible to unwind this. We should never have accepted it in the first place, but we did, and now the only course is to start resisting. You know that when Biden gets in (which I’m afraid he will) , we’re going to have a second major crackdown, nationwide.
I’m hoping that not only individuals but some of the states will resist this time around.
We can’t give up. Better late than never...the election has been stolen, there doesn’t seem to be the will to contest it, but we’ve got to keep our eyes fixed on freedom, no matter what.
The lesson we’ve learned is that people have to resist immediately and not let the forces of evil crush us without a fight.

I enjoyed a “super spreader” Thanksgiving Dinner with my family and friends...NO ONE GOT COVID.
I will be enjoying a “super spreader” Christmas Celebration with my family and friends.
Life is too short to spend it alone and miserable.
Yes!!! Who knew resistance could be so much fun? God bless!
Merry Christmas to you, Friend.
I won’t live my life as a Scrooge or a coward. Free people don’t have to ask permission.
MSM: NY Post is a cheap tabloid and not worth paying any attention to.
Why should I care about NYC? They vote overwhelmingly Dem. F them. They deserve everything that’s coming to them.
Last night 8 of us enjoyed a standing rib roast, and then gathered in the living room (windows wide open but fireplace hot, so comfy) and heartily sang (the horror!) Christmas carols for half an hour, grandparents included.
They are in their 70s and say they’ve lived a good life and want to enjoy Christmas traditions as normal with family. So we did.
Wrong Lithgow movie.
Cuomo isn’t the rev from Footloose.
He’s the alien from Buckaroo Banzai.
I read that it is OK to dine with family members with no problems. I don’t have any family members that don’t have problems-mostly mental.
I knew this country was over back then, when I saw how many FREEPERS of all people were so willing to shut down their lives and businesses at the direction of some @sshole in a governor’s office ... and even came here on FR and scolded their fellow conservatives for refusing to do so.
We took a ride and ended up having breakfast at a Waffle House - some folks wore masks on the way in and the staff had them on - with a lot of noses showing - and there was close to a full house. Glad to be in Mississippi where 95% of the places don’t look twice if you walk in without a mask even though they are technically required.
I think his very point was that we didn’t resist in time (or at all, in many cases). The majority of people seem to be just fine with this nonsense, and I think some of them actually like it. You’re right, the time to resist was at the beginning.
I’m sure one of Biden’s first moves will be to declare some kind of national lockdown. He must be resisted immediately, not 9 months later when we are in the equivalent of concentration camps. It’s way too late then.
Yep, and when lifelong friends, and even many family members, did the same: blindly following, and often enthusiastically supporting, every stupid, tyrannical edict. Absolutely pathetic, disgusting, and deeply disappointing.
Yep. You can vote your way IN to Socialism, but you’ll have to shoot your way OUT!
