Looking for food recommendations and recipes to help. Any recommendations for pain, etc. Just diagnosed. More tests to follow from a specialist (when I can get in).
I’ve had IBS problems and noticed they decreased when I visited Israel last year.
Sometimes I do not use the gloucosamine powder...still works great. The slippery elm coats the lining of the stomach helping with the pain.
You were probably eating fewer processed foods.
I had colitis over 25 years ago. It lasted a few months. The doctors called it âÂÂidiopathic,â meaning they couldnâÂÂt identify a cause. A rectal suppository cleared it up. I never changed my diet at all.
Crohn’s Disease. You might have it. PM me if you’ll like.
Hopefully they tested you for known bacterias that cause all sorts of IBS: c diff and h pylori because those can be treated with antibiotics...if negative for both: I cured my daughter of Crohns disease using bone broths and collagen to heal her small intestine. No carb/no sugar/ no chemical additive diet, broths with meat from grass fed animals. Only cooked vegetables. I then used mint oil capsules (4 weeks) , followed by charcoal and clay caps to clear her gut of the die-off.
Initially we went to a very well known gastro dr at john hopkins... for two years he tried all the normal drugs and biologicals, which basically stop your symptoms but make you prone to other infections. She was hospitalized 3 times because of their treatments. She has had no relapse of crohns for almost 4 years.
Yep. Even their white wine didn’t set me off. Stateside...it does.
I’m a gal, BTW. And I so appreciate prayer!
Sciatica is tough, but probiotics will bring your UC to heel. I take a few different brands every day.
I think maybe the kosher wine probably doesn’t have any sulfites added.
I will certainly bring that up with the specialist.
Yep. I need to find Kosher wine here. 😁
Pretty sure Dr. Savage recommends fresh jalapeño pepper the hotter the better
No, sorry.
I made chili the night before. That’s what set me off. I can’t even imagine that at this point with the pain I’m in.
> Oatmeal, white rice and stay the hell away from Stress!!!
Me, I can’t eat rice or its the runs for days.
Actually, there are probably different triggers for everybody. What you might try is dialing your diet down to a very few things and see if the symptoms abate in a couple of weeks. If so, then work your way back into foods at 2 week intervals. Probably take a year or two to figure out what works for you.
They do make vaginal probiotics for recurrent yeast infections. For other conditions....simply taking them by mouth gets where you want them.
But now that you mention it... Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is starting to be a proven treatment. Initially were used to treat C. difficile colitis due to antibiotic use. Takes a fecal sample from a healthy relative (the donor), filtering the sample, and infusing (usually via enema). Several youtube videos on this. Up to 30% get a near complete response per multiple studies.
bttt
A longstanding anecdotal treatment has now been given scientific approval. Ordinary peppermint extract, added to some water, has been shown to have a strong soothing effect to GI tract cells for a percentage of sufferers.
Just by itself it might be able to reduce or eliminate several such problems, especially IBS.
Do mix a tsp full with a cup of water, otherwise it can burn.
To a lot of good diet advice here already, I’ll chip in “an apple a day.” Granny Smith apples are said to be the best. Avoid anything in a jar with added sugar.
