Published on Nov 4, 2011 This is the story of one platoon of 18 lightly armed men held off the spearhead of Kampfgruppe Peiper for 8 hours during the Battle of the Bulge on December 16, 1944. The ultimate David versus Goliath story of World War II.
A must listen to ping. Interview with some of the 18 members of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Platoon of 394th Inf Rgt, 99th Inf Div, that held off a German parachute regiment regiment for a full day on the first day of the Battle of the Bulge.

Both discuss the defensive action in the first four days of the Bulge by the 99th Division, 4th Division, 28th Division and other US Army units that made the initial defensive actions by the US army, including the defense of Bastogne by the 101st Airborne and other US Army units, possible.
Andrew Biggio took vets back to the bulge last year (among several trips for WWII vets). He has written The Rifle. A Back to the Bulge documentary will be on 12/26.

Sounds like something that will happening again very, very soon...
All about the exploits of Lieutenant Lyle Bouck and the guys.

Captain Bouck died four years ago in December 2016, at 92, two weeks short of his 93rd birthday. He almost made his birthday, today, December 17. He got to see President Trump elected.
