Just arrived at our DC bureau. Sources telling me that SCOTUS is expected to announce today that they will not hear the Texas case.

I have never so fervently wanted to be proven wrong in my life, but we’ll see."

I thought in a case of original jurisdiction, one between states, that the Supreme Court had to take the case because there is no other recourse for the states to redress their grievances between each other.

Unfortunately, they do not need to take a case where one state is suing another.

It’s difficult to understand exactly what’s going on. Tons of noise. No crime to assume. :)

We still have our means of self defense.

Expect attacks and action against that like no other coming in the future though.

They don’t need to hear it - they already decided it in Foster vs Love (1997, 9-0 decision). Elections not finished at midnight on Election Day are void and preempted.

I know what I’d like to see happen, but I sure don’t know what will happen. Nothing in this is enough to get me worked up.

A hearing and a win will likely send it back to the states, where state legislatures may not have the cajones to “flip” the vote.

But even no hearing could put it in the laps of state legislators. Absent a “win” from the SCs, they’ll be able to draw from strong dissents from Alito & Thomas and others. I hope they can at least fight to a draw and refuse to send electors resulting in less than 270 EVs for either.

Each state, then, gets 1 vote (from reps/senators) who largely do not live in neighborhoods next door to D partisans who want to kill them. Fed reps & senators would not betray they’re constituents in R states and face defeat in the next election. We win this one 26-24.

"If SCOTUS confirms then what?

If SCOTUS denies then what?

If SCOTUS refuses to look at it then what?"

" The answer to all three is Biden is inaugurated on January 20, 2021.

Even if the USSC takes the case and finds for Texas, the relief will be to kick the selection of electors back to the legislatures of the four states. The remedy outlined in the Constitution. A Trump victory but one than reaffirms the status quo.

I’ve said it before and I say it again. Anyone who thought Trumps SCOTUS picks were constitutional conservatives are delusional. They were all exposed at swamp rats. Especially Barrett.

Found a little more on the Coffee County: They are quibbling over 50 votes. Which almost certainly was just a batch of 50 run through a machine twice. This was not a “vote flipping” thing— this was the recount being off by 51, instead of the expected 1. In any case, 50 votes in a whole county is no evidence of Dominion vote flipping. https://www.theepochtimes.com/georgia-county-says-it-couldnt-produce-duplicate-election-results-secretary-of-states-office-investigating_3612884.html

That’s what happens when many voters are attracted by the shiny objects in DC, but don’t pay attention to who their state elected officials are: Gov., SoS, Legislators.

At least one of those was Rat controlled after 2018 in GA, PA, MI, WI. In AZ, just the Rat SoS still made all the difference.

Fine by me. I’ve got 75 ballots sitting in my garage.

You get the ballots, I get the printer...

Catchy tune.

Explain please. Why to you single out Barrett?
I’m not saying you’re wrong I would just like your reasoning. Frankly, there’s something about Kavanaugh that I don’t trust.

I call BS on the sources. More Twitter nonsense.

think the Supreme Court will decline to get involved and I think that it will say so today, but that’s not because of “sources”. The Court had a conference today and it’s standard for orders from the Friday conference to come out Friday afternoon or Monday morning.
