Oregon man arrested after Tesla going nearly 100 mph crashes, sends batteries flying

An Oregon man crashed a Tesla while going about 100 mph, destroying the vehicle, a power pole and starting a fire when some of the hundreds of batteries from the vehicle broke windows and landed in residences, police said. Dylan Milota was driving a 2019 Tesla S Tuesday night when he lost control, left the road and traveled more than 300 feet before stopping, according to Corvallis Police Lt. Ryan Eaton.

The car sheared off a power pole at the base, knocked down two trees and a telephone junction box, police said. Batteries tossed from the Tesla in the collision landed in a person’s lap and on a bed in a nearby residence, causing the bedding to ignite, police said. Police said hundreds of batteries used to power the vehicle were strewn around in the crash.

A tire ripped from the car also struck the siding of a nearby apartment building with such force that it ruptured the water pipes in the wall, destroying part of an apartment, police added.

On a side note, they must really protect the passengers well. :)

Side note two: Good thing it didn’t use a Mr. Fusion.

My information may be old, but my understanding is that they use a ton of laptop batteries.

Wow
That seems like a lot more damage than a regular car would cause
the flying batteries alone are scary

Wherever I go over 100 mph, if I lose control the only thing I’m gonna hit is bushes and maybe a guardrail. I would never do it in a populated area.

I am not sure if there are a higher number of these incidents or I am just perceiving it more. There sure does seem to be a lot of odd accidents with Tesla cars like the one we had near me where a guy ended up in a pond. It’s not clear if the auto driving feature is at fault or if it’s the driver not being skilled enough to handle cars with acceleration and speed. It’s likely all of the above. I don’t hear much about fires while charging anymore.

Funny, how the commie journalistas complain about Teslas, but they don’t complain about the battery powered cars and SUVs driven by Bye-Den-voting, suburban women.

[Making fun of the way the commie propaganda punks pronounce Biden. Those foreigners and perverts sound like small children.]

Just did some checking. It looks like the Tesla battery pack uses cells a bit larger than AA.

The 85 kWh battery pack contains about 7100 cells.

Look. Tesla’s are mean. In fact, demonic.

They actively seek to hurt people, kids and pets.

When a Tesla wakes up, the first thing, the very first thing it thinks is how can I get my “unsuspecting” driver to ruin their and others lives.

Tesla’s love property damage.
