From the article:

“As SWC details, the drama queen, one Richard Pilger, has been in charge of the Election Crimes Branch at DoJ HQ for quite a few years. During the Obama years he wrote up a manual of procedures for the handling of allegations of election law violations. That manual specified that the local US Attorneys (USAs)—including their Assistants (AUSAs) and FBI agents—could take no action with regard to allegations of election law violations without DoJ HQ—meaning, without Pilger’s—approval.”

Trying to make lemonade, are we?
I have no confidence in Barr. Sounds like he has done nothing more than remove someone who is not on his page.
That’s good for Barr, and it would have been good for Captain Bligh, too. It’s just sensible management. Machiavelli 101. If you, the boss, don’t lead your team, you don’t have a team.
But beyond that, Barr does not inspire me to wishful thinking. As with the Hunter Biden investigation, Barr proudly declaims he will do nothing about a stolen election until “after the election.”
He’ll shut the Barrn door after the horse is gone.

Good article.

The Left had stacked the deck to make it virtually impossible to investigate election fraud.

Barr just changed all the rules and opened this wide up.

Best article on the subject (of Barr and the election) so far.

This matter of election fraud cannot be driven by the Trump campaign and team...and it cannot be tried in the court of public opinion.

It has to be investigated and tried independently by and within the "legal system." Otherwise, it will look political and Trump and his presidency will be diminished.

I’m sorry, but local Dem city FBI offices are at least as corrupt as their and the DoJ’s corrupt headquarters. Empowering them is not a good sign. US marshalls are the ones who could best be entrusted with this.

Barr is a stealth AG...sort of like a Ninja?

So the real story here is this RedState Article by shipwreckedcrew who is a former prosecutor and can write on a website that presents information in a format that you can read clear of the clutter of advertising on "thinker" so you can understand the point.

First rule, never used a badly written secondary source when a well-written primary source is immediately at hand.

And here is the moneyquote from shipwreckedcrew:

When Richard Pilger took over as Director of the Branch, he decided that the manual needed updating. So under his guidance it was updated and edited down some in 2017 — now it’s only 296 pages long.

I’ve never brought myself to read the thing, but in merely “perusing” it, I noticed that about 900 times in the course of 300 pages the Election Crimes Branch tells the AUSAs that they must consult with and obtain approval from Election Crimes Branch before an AUSA or FBI Agent can do anything operationally in response to an allegation that an election-related crime might have taken place. Without their approval, there would be no investigation.

What happened today, and what prompted Pilger to “quit” was that AG Barr said to US Attorneys – “If you have substantial allegations of election fraud in your district, you have authority to investigate that.” Basically, Barr cut Pilger and Election Crimes Branch out of the picture as “gatekeepers” to starting investigations in places like Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Atlanta.

The real story behind AG Barr authorizing investigations of vote fraud blows away the MSM narrative

Keep in mind those "investigating" are "Deep State" swamp creatures and ANYTHING they find will be months, if not years down the road. Most likely it is nothing but a whitewash, much like the Durham "investigation".

“Are there enough prisons?”

No. But I’m sure there are enough bullet pock-marked walls available.

Refresh my memory: How many people have been indicted by Barr re. the Obama Admin. spying on the Trump campaign? How many indicted re. the Clinton corruption? And the Biden corruption? How many grand juries have been formed to investigate these crimes?

No patriot would have allowed a corrupt politician to continue to run for President if he knew the candidate was probably guilty, nor would he allow the charges to continue if he knew they were probably false. Yet Barr has done neither.

AG Barr seems to be a more clever member of the Deep State, but a member nevertheless.

“FBI agents could enter election centers armed.”

I am not sure where FBI Agents can not go while armed.

WoW - this is real deal... explains why and HOW the FBI was hobbled. Real eye opener. This one's a keeper:

So, with one stroke of the pen Barr has broken up the logjam that obstructionists at DoJ (protected by civil service laws) had constructed.

To understand why this has liberal knickers in such a knot, it's necessary to understand the effect of Barr's action. FBI agents — the investigators — can do quite a bit of investigating without grand jury involvement. Many cases can be essentially completed using techniques such as interviews and physical surveillance, consensual searches, and so forth.
