An Idaho Falls man and two others were in hot water after being found with cooking pots and two chickens in a thermal area of Yellowstone National Park.
A ranger received reports on Aug. 7 that a group was hiking toward Shoshone Geyser Basin with cooking pots, a park spokeswoman told EastIdahoNews.com Friday. The ranger responded and discovered two whole chickens in a burlap sack sitting in a hot spring with a cooking pot nearby.
The ranger spoke with the group of 10, including a child. The Idaho Falls man and two others were cited for foot travel in a thermal area. He was also ordered to appear in a Mammoth Hot Springs court.

Haha
Chicken can be boiled
His goose is cooked.
Thank you for posting this. I needed it.
So are you now saying that his chicken in now cooked?
The Judge controls pouring the water on the hot rocks. Bring your own towels.
You noticed that the people weren’t named or their ethnicity.
And some are saying “At least he wasn’t choking it.”
Meanwhile, a little kid bolted off a boardwalk and fell into a thermal feature, was burned and sent to the hospital.
I was thinking Chinese, myself.
Can he cook his chickens there?
Save the chickens, boil the knuckleheads.
My Grandparents and great grandparents were homesteaders in MT dating back to the lateen 1800s. They would go to Yellowstone for week at a time to hunt and camp. They cooked their food in the hot springs and washed their dishes in them all the time. They are even on record of discovering numerous hot springs geysers and mud pots.
I remember taking my grandmother to Yellowstone back in 1986, and she would stop on the boardwalk and tell me what it was like long before the boardwalks existed. I remember looking around and there were dozens of people just straining to hear her quiet voice, as they hung on her every word about the history she knew first hand. I There was a crowd following us all over, because they wanted to know what she knew.I’ll cherish the memories of her and Grandpa forever.
Oh, the stories I could share that they told me. Some funny, some scary, but all true.
“Ya knows, Buck, I jes cain’t git past the sulfure smell a thesehere chickens.
“This land is your land, this land is my land...”
Actually, I guess it belongs to the beret-wearing nazis.
Never mind.
Were Kramer and Darren involved with this?
2 years probation?
He could just walked into a KFC with a black BLM mask and hood and looted all the chicken he wanted for free and no risk of punishment.
Was going to do “Broasted Chicken”?? (Boiled and then roasted). Was a “thing” at a local drive-in in the ‘60’s.
Now I am wondering what chicken or anything cooked in a hot spring tastes like. I imagine it would be pretty funky with the minerals like strong sulfur but who knows.
I’d still try it for sure.
