It appears to me that Trump is on the way to a crooked loss. Of course it becomes a huge matter for many courts that could take months to resolve. On Jan 20th, 2021 who is the POTUS? It looks to me like in a crisis Pelosi may take over the Executive branch until a clear winner is named.
I was ridiculed for putting forth that proposition. Go back and check.
No one wanted to believe the motivation to stay out of prison would be sufficient to blatantly cheat like this.
Fox calling VA with 1% was the early tell.
Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan..........

Bingo.
The actual date of our election
The legislators can pick the electors anyway.
They have that constitutional right, and there isn’t anything that can be done to stop it. Although, will they have the balls to do it?
BTW, republicans have majorities in both the house and senate in WI, MI, PA, GA, and AZ
If there is no one with a majority on counting day due to contested EVs or what ever, the election goes to the House and each State gets one vote for President. Assuming no defections, Trump wins since Rs hold the majority of House delegations. Similarly, the VP choice goes to the Senate, and since Rs hold the Senate. This takes place on Jan 6. So the only way Biden wins is by stealing the election NOW. Pelosi is not a part of that process, she only gets to be President after she assassinates Biden and Harris after they’re sworn in.
The election court battles have to be done before December 14th so the electors can transmit their votes to Congress.
Last time it was wargamed, Jeffrey Toobin left some of himself on the battlefield.
House meets 3rd of January, and whoever has the most seats...picks the new Speaker.
If Democrats come out ahead...they might have a meeting and say ‘no way’ on Nancy getting another spell as Speaker. If the Republicans come out ahead, they’d select the Speaker.
Then your scenario moves forward...that person would be the temp-President until the state-by-state House vote is concluded (even if it’s three months). I don’t think there is any time limit rigged in the Constitution.
Now, the added question...how about the Senate? They will meet and vote Senator by Senator for the VP. More Republicans....more odds that Pence returns. But the temp-President/House Speaker would be in charge.
I think under this scenario...the majority party would pick a temp-House Speaker (you couldn’t do both jobs, I would assume).
For the last time, no.
Pence takes over, at least until Jan 20th, 2021, Then next in line, if not resolved, Nancy Pelosi.
Tied or contested election
"The founders proved prescient: The elections of 1800 and 1824 did not produce winners in the Electoral College and were decided by the House. Thomas Jefferson was chosen in 1800 and John Quincy Adams in 1824."

and since the Rs hold the Senate, they pick Pence.
Despite the expected howls of disapproval from the left, it is authorized in the U.S. Constitution. Article 2, Section 1.2:
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress:
I prefer Pelosi in a temporary position than President Harris in a 4 year position
The election in the HoR happens 2 weeks before inauguration day, so the SoH isn’t acting President before that date, either.
In a case where no candidate has a majority of Electoral Votes the house votes by state, not by individual members. Each state in the U.S. House of Reps gets 1 vote, meaning there are 50 votes (D.C. would not be able to vote since the Constitution specifically mentions states). Right now I believe Republicans control 26 states as far as Republicans having a majority of members in that state’s delegation in the U.S House.
It would actually benefit Trump if the House determined the Election. And that is actually a Trump firewall if Dems totally screw up the Electoral system.
there’s a deadline for states to certify and submit to Congress. Not sure of the day, let’s say December 15 for the sake of discussion. If PA doesn’t certify and submit, them there’s only 518 Electors appointed. 260 is a majority of 518 and would win it...
Thank you! You are absolutely correct. Each state gets ONE vote in the case of it going to the House of Reps.
So count the republican state legislatures and if there are more that are required (majority), then we know the results.
“260 is a majority of 518 and would win it...”
I don’t think so. It stays 538.
