I generally don't watch tv, but I'm making an exception for tonight's election. I want to drink liberal tears.
What the me should I start watching, MST? What channel will give me the best coverage?
A good wine sit back and enjoy cnn.
C-SPAN gives neutral coverage, which includes the results for federal political races. I try to avoid any talking heads jaw jacking.
... and you might get to listen to Steve Scully.
You have to ask what channels to watch in your own town?
Pro-tip from 2016: Setup as many screens (tv, computer, phone, iPad) as possible and tune each to a different liberal network. Sit back with your cold beer(s) and simultaneously watch the collective freak outs. Its SO fun. Just make sure everything is pre-charged and/or have long extension cords handy to avoid the anguish of dying devices at critical moments.
I plan to do that and, for actual data, keep a close eye on Trafalgars website and Twitter feed.
I don’t mean the actual, but the station or host or commentary crew.
What time MST, should I start watching?
This is THE place to go. Lots of links to live coverage =>

I’d start by setting expectations realistically.
2016 was wholly unexpected by the media, and to be honest it was unexpected by a lot of people who voted for Trump in the first place. The whole night was set up to lead to a glorious Hillary victory party where she would “spontaneously” look up to the glass ceiling of the Javits center as the balloons were coming down and stand by in glory as every talking head on every news channel also “spontaneously” recited a prepared monologue about how she broke through the greatest of glass ceilings to usher in a blah blah blah. This was going to be their “I was there when” moment that they told their children about... and there was no Plan B for them four years ago.
Today, most everyone understands at some level that Biden isn’t actually a candidate, he’s an elderly demented man is filling a spot where a candidate would normally go. Nobody is voting “for” Biden, they’re voting against Trump, and they’re not excited to witness history play out with a coronation so much as topple a bad orange man... so it’s not the same. There’s a lot more anger, and the celebratory mood is right now all on the right side of the aisle.
The libs are champing at the bit to make Trump and his supporters feel as bad as they have, and they won’t be sad, they’ll be angry if it doesn’t turn out the way they expect. It’s very unlikely there will be a repeat of the blindsided speechlessness of talking heads, rather a prepared accusation of malfeasance and a call to arms to continue the resistance against Trump if he does win. If Biden does pull out a victory, it won’t be a celebration of Biden, it will be step one in tearing down anything Trump put his name to in the last four years. It won’t be a happy scene even if they get exactly what they want.
I agree. John King on CNN is a master with the touchscreen map. He has great command of the figures. He actually reports the facts and leaves the crying to Wolf Blitzer.
Goid luck with that. Theyve got a compact not to call any races
In 2016 when Florida was called for Trump around 6:30 or so Pacific time, I knew it was OK enough to go to my conservative friends’ house to start the party.
And the night just got better and better after that.
For the best coverage: online New York Times. Very accurate and no talking heads or liberals. Good neutral data and they were accurate, and early.
Don’t forget to search “election live streaming” on YouTube. Along with all the major channels, there are likely to be a few hundred freelance YouTubers covering it—& a few of them might be more entertaining than the talking heads on TV.
You might check out OAN and Newsmax.
C-Span
I am in Pennsylvania. We are one of the most important keys to this election.
If Trump can take PA, he will be re-elected.
I watch the Pennsylvania Dept of State Website to see the counties reporting results.
In 2016, Clinton had a big lead as we watched the results come in from the rural counties, allowing Trump to take the lead around 3am.

7 pm. Do not watch Fox News- they were the worst! They called it after the NewYork Times! Watch OAN or Newsmax. Follow free republic. If it looks like Trump will win , quickly change channel to MSNBC and flip back and forth between there and CNN.
