The Black man fatally shot by Philadelphia police officers on Monday was an aspiring rapper who sometimes rhymed about shooting people, including police officers, and was awaiting trial for allegedly threatening to shoot a woman, according to media reports.
Walter Wallace Jr., 27, also rapped about social justice and police injustice on his social media, WPVI-TV reported.
Court records obtained by the news outlet also show Wallace had a criminal history. In 2017, he pleaded guilty to robbery, assault and possessing an instrument of crime, according to documents obtained by Fox News.
Authorities said he kicked down the door of another woman and put a gun to her head.
He was sentenced to 11 months to 23 months in jail. In 2013, he pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and punching an officer in the face. It was not clear if the two officers who shot Wallace knew him, his mental health struggles or his past, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said Tuesday.
"There are several questions that need to be answered... including what the officers knew when they responded, what was put out by radio and how any previous contact with Mr. Wallace factored into yesterday," she said during a virtual news conference.

Wow, what a surprise.
Thank you for making me feel prehistoric.
:D
I needed 2 cops for an involuntary committal yesterday. They were needed to 'do the paper" and manhandle the patient onto our stretcher. This was a 250 lb 26 year old female. Sure a social worker, if they're present, can do the paper, but involuntary committals are impossible without the cops 90% of the time.
In an ideal world we'd be issued rifles w/tranquilizer darts, like Jim had in 'Wild Kingdom'. If it worked on animals on the Serengeti it'd probably work on animals in West Philly.
Out of the frying pan, into the fire. She left Portland because they wouldnt let her do her job.
But Philly doesn’t like or want its cops, so surely social workers can do all that for them.
They clearly think so.
If this family sues, taxpayers should take them to court to recover the payout the city will give them.
Exactly what they did.

FDM: Facts dont matter. Any reason to loot, riot, destroy property, and threaten innocent people will do. The cause of justice is served.
But those blax are criminals. To push the "poor blax/evil whites" fable, they have to ignore the criminal's rap sheet. It doesn't fit the narrative.
So there you have it; aspiring rapper.
Well he can rap in hell to his maker.....good riddance...
Just imagine how it makes the FReeper octogenarians on the board feel. :-P
The women who get paid welfare for every kid...Kinda like an 18 year long BOUNTY being paid.
Created a FERAL ARMY OF BARBARIANS THAT HATE US who will be jailed.
An aspiring rapper. Oh, how I wish that execrable music form never ever came into being.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%^
Me too. I told people in the late 80’s when I heard the 1st “Beastie Boys” album that rap should be a huge red flag to the authorities...now I see 6 year old kids trying to “rap” and doing all the latest dance moves they see on MTV...which at one time actually played music...
Scary stuff. Grade school kids exposed to some of the most violent, obnoxious and vulgar language you can think of...and parents just say “oh they’re so cute”...
And it is not having a pleasing effect on youth.
I saw a little girl in a car next to me 10 years ago, about 8 years old, her mother gone inside the library, flipped me thd finger when I looked at her. (white girl)
Black girl about the same age about to ooen the oibrary door another time, said “it’s f@ckin hot out here”. Both no oldrr than 8 or so.
LOL
What is it about the popo always shooting aspiring rappers? /sarc
