The Black man fatally shot by Philadelphia police officers on Monday was an aspiring rapper who sometimes rhymed about shooting people, including police officers, and was awaiting trial for allegedly threatening to shoot a woman, according to media reports.
Walter Wallace Jr., 27, also rapped about social justice and police injustice on his social media, WPVI-TV reported.
Court records obtained by the news outlet also show Wallace had a criminal history. In 2017, he pleaded guilty to robbery, assault and possessing an instrument of crime, according to documents obtained by Fox News.
Authorities said he kicked down the door of another woman and put a gun to her head.
He was sentenced to 11 months to 23 months in jail. In 2013, he pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and punching an officer in the face. It was not clear if the two officers who shot Wallace knew him, his mental health struggles or his past, Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said Tuesday.
"There are several questions that need to be answered... including what the officers knew when they responded, what was put out by radio and how any previous contact with Mr. Wallace factored into yesterday," she said during a virtual news conference.

What kind of action is left for the police to use in a situation like this? Drive up...stay in the car, and ask via speaker for the guy to exit the house?
All of this goes back to no attention by the authorities to put mental-issue people in a permanent facility.
What rhymes with cred? Lead. Dead. Red. Bled.
It seems the dems are winning on all sides. In order to control the black man they have brainwashed him to be a savage and act accordingly. This has led to a stereotype image of black people which is not deserved. By convincing the black that they—don’t want no white mans education— they have kept them controlled.
I have many educated black friends who are busting butt to make a living and raise their families. This effort to keep the black population uneducated and under control has hurt these people trying to stand on their own 2 feet.
This sort of event is leading to FIDO policing. F*** It, Drive On.
This is part of why murders and violent crimes are up sharply in many of our major cities.
An aspiring rapper. Oh, how I wish that execrable “music” form never ever came into being.
“Oh, how I wish that execrable music form never ever came into being.”
The USA and world would be much better without it that is for sure . Execrable a wonderful adjective !

Why are their Martyrs always scumbags????
A couple loading groceries into the car let go of their car and put a dent in my Mag’s door.
After I got out and yelled “You dented my car!” the woman said “So call the cops” and I took her up on her suggestion.
When I called the cops to file the report for insurance, BEFORE they would even send an officer out, the dispatcher wanted their plate number, their race, asked whether I’d been threatened, did I feel like I was in danger and did I suspect they had weapons.
This is the new reality.
Cops want to know what they’re walking into and I can’t blame them for that.
Was that a rhetorical question?
;)
” was an aspiring rapper “
OMG, they actually wrote that!
Aspiring rapper and Iranian nuclear scientist. Two of the most dangerous and ill-advised professions on planet Earf.
LOL...wasn’t al-Baghdadi said to be something like a “gentle poet” or “lofty theologian” or some such crazy thing?
/does anybody else hear a dog barking?
It single handedly destroyed MTV.
Diversity equals destruction.
Before it came on the scene, Blacks were producing some of the best and greatest music in America. Rock n’Roll, R&B, Soul, Disco, Motown. Music that transcended race. Showcased on “Soul Train” every Saturday...
Then came the nuclear bomb of rap and it consumed everything in its wake. Everything turned nasty and violent, racist and misogynistic, celebrating drugs and murder and sexual exploitation, gangsterism and thuggery, ultimately nihilism. Live fast, die young, and knock up as many ho’s as you can to repeat the feat in the next generation of doomed souls.
To his credit, Don Cornelius kept that filth off his show, but sadly, the degrading culture of rap couldn’t be stopped and his show became an anachronism and went off the air.
Yup.
The sound of the hounds of hell.
Every Saturday, my parents went out to supper and I stayed home to watch what I wanted, on TV.
I loved Soul Train, and then later that night, I had The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert.
I loved Cornelius and was terribly sad when he died.
Among other crazy, super eclectic scuff on my iPod playlist, is an awful lot of funk.
But I still can’t dance worth a dang.
:)
[you watch episodes of ALL of the above on YouTube...bliss!]
Heh.
That was SO epic.
