Not a fan in the slightest of bazeball, but my youngest brother ia a Dodger fanatic. As it happens, I was at his house for whatever game that was when Kirk Gibson pulled off the clutch performance of his life. Major insanity, but by then we were both drunk.
According to my little bro' that was the all-time Dodger highlight. Dimly recall Howard's name as a kid. Think he struck out a lot.

My father was almost a lifelong Washingtonian and a great baseball fan. At the end of his life his favorite ball player was Frank Howard. (As a kid in the 1920s, he had named his pet collie ‘Bucky Harris’)
Howard was a massive, imposing guy.

According to my little bro' that was the all-time Dodger highlight. It was, as far as I'm concerned. I was in a bar full of Oakland A's fans when that went down. As Kirk hobbled to the plate, I chanted, "Kirk! Kirk! Kirk!" They A's fans looked at me like I was crazy.
I made much noise as they wept in their beers.
The only thing that would have made it more awesome was if it were game 7.
Best moment in baseball history.

Ditch the creepy satin (crepe ?) suit; keep the eyes and lips; and maybe we could work something out.
(We have mountains and ocean in Maryland, too. And both of those parts are far less liberal than the parts of our State that everyone hates.)

And I don’t think there’s anything on the West Coast that can compare with the Outer Banks of NC, for beach-going.
