247 zeptoseconds = 494 half-zeptoseconds

JK. Interesting stuff.

Yeah, but it still can’t make the Kessel run in 12 parsecs.

I thought the shortest time in the universe was the interval between the light turning green and the taxi behind you honking its horn.

Is that a longer or shorter period than the length of time between Biden’s lies?

Seems to me you run into some issues with Planck’s constant there, in determining the position of the electrons to such high certainty.
Heisenberg is pissed off, certainly.

What I learned after reading the article and thinking about the topic:

60 years ago I’d hear, in response to a time inquiry, something like “quarter to freckle .” Not until tonight did it occur to me the joke had to do with looking at a watch-less wrist.

Perhaps when I heard the joke it was stale enough to no longer require acting out. Now I get it, ha!

Wonder what they meant by half-past the monkey’s...

I still believe time is a human construct, whether a short or longer time according to the above theory with photons and atoms interacting. It shows a difference, but it is still the human mind that constructs it. And yes, I did stay at a Holiday Inn.

Gosh.
It seems like only yesterday we were contemplating why the chicken crossed the road.

I always thought the second was a little too long. Maybe they should rethink the whole thing and go to metric time after all. Make the second about 1/3 shorter, then make 100 seconds replace the minute.

Daylight Savings Time they could just move the decimal point.

This is exactly how long it takes for Schumer to step in front of a camera or Pelosi to eat a pint of ice cream.

This distance is the speed of light going about 74 picometers, just over half the above-stated size of the hydrogen atom, 120 picometers. (247 10^-21 s x 3 10^8 m/s = 74.1 10^-12 m)

The time it takes for Helium 5 to decay to Helium 4 is shorter: 10^-20 seconds. About the time it takes for light to cross the nucleus, which is much smaller than a molecule.
