I was hanging out at my favorite fishing hole, which happens to have a nearby homeless camp. Sometime, late winter, early spring, one of the guys walked up to me and gave me a mask sealed in plastic that he’d gotten at the local homeless facilitation facility. I looked at it, at said “What am I supposed to do with that?” He said “Use it to keep your nutsack warm, for all I care.” I still have it. Probably doesn’t have a half-hours use. Another guy asked me if I liked his black mask. He thought it made him look like a ninja. I asked him where he got it. He’d picked it up from the 7-11 parking lot.
Some people are so germaphobic that they will wear a mask 24/7 if necessary.............................

Masks for the general population are the asifidity bags of the 21st century. During the Spanish flu epidemic there was widespread belief that a cloth bag of a foul smelling spice worn around the neck would ward off the flu. The practice persisted even into the polio epidemics in the early 1950s
