Interesting theory, but it seems more like something that a drug addict just forgot about.
I pondered the same thing. Being in a drug-induced stupor and sheer stupidity doesn’t even fully explain leaving laptops with highly sensitive, illegal, national security info on it.
Hunter has been a “deep state” player for the last 25 years. He absolutely knows what’s at stake.
Ask a former addict if they ever did incredibly stupid things while under the influence.
My thought was that he was trying to hide his financial information from stripper lawsuit discovery.
If it’s true that there are videos of abuse/torture/rape of underage girls, then I doubt anything was intentional.
I thinks it’s a simple as drugged out, life in a blur, entitled and protected elitist never expecting any comeuppance.
Hunter retrieved one of the three laptops didn’t he? One was too damaged and was thrown away. One was repaired, right? And one was never picked up. That would tend to sayThat Hunter knew it was there and didn’t care.
Could he have been hiding them at the repair place? To avoid a subpoena, LE, hacking...?
I can’t see him doing it deliberately, because of the risks involved in going to jail himself. Is he really willing to spend the next 20 years in prison because the evidence that he left on the laptop?
I can imagine him wanting to do his father’s Presidential in, but I can’t see him willing to go to jail to end the run.
That, and I don't think Hunter was ever a bright boy.

No doubt, real and armchair psychologists will ponder this for some time.
Clearly some anger towards the Big Guy. But this is just drugged out loser behavior.
Beau was the favored child, and maybe a bagman in training.

Too lazy to go retrieve it. His only motivation to get up in the morning is either drugs, sex or making deals with foreign governments.
Freud is very out-of-fashion, but he did say something along the lines of “there are no accidents”.
Hunter is a crackhead loser who makes stupid mistakes and lots of bad decisions. That alone could explain everything. But I believe the repair shop tried to contact him multiple times. He consistently ignored those messages. Because he was in a fog? Or because he was hoping to get Joe in trouble through some awful passive-aggressive “mistake”?
Consciously, or unconsciously, I think Hunter wanted everything to come tumbling down. He’s messed up and resentful.
Sounds like the most likely explanation but the drug haze one could also be plausible. The fact that he left 3 seems to me he wanted all his laptops out of circulation.
I could see it, under the right circumstances. Family dynamics get this way sometimes.
If Hunter resented being the bagman, and this kept going on for years and years with no end in sight, constantly being harassed to ask for favors or to ask dad for meetings. Some of these people can be very very pushy and intimidating, and if you have a major dependency issue, you can’t handle the stress. You just want a way out of it.
From the outside the concept seems preposterous to us. We would be like, “psh... you’re nutz. You’re getting millions and you live a the life of luxury”
