This actually makes me giddy. I’ve been involved in the punk rock/new wave/alt scene since my oldest brother (who I worship, practically) brought home the Pistols and Ramones’ albums when he was in college. So I’ve been into punk/new wave since its inception (’77).
It’s no wonder that Johnny Rotten (as well as a few of the Ramones, Mo Tucker from the Velvets, etc.) are right wing. They are free thinkers. They refuse to follow the herd (because the herd gets eaten.)

Wow there are so many falsehoods in just that first sentence, not sure the rest of the article can be believed. The Sex Pistols ceased over 40 years ago, his band since then is Public Image Ltd. And he stopped being Johnny Rotten not long after the Pistols ended. He’s John Lydon.

On the topic of punkers & ex-punkers leaning right, Greg Gutfeld has uncovered a ton of these folks over the years, first on his “Red Eye” show & now in his podcasts. There are likely as many mainstream entertainers that feel this way, they’re just afraid to open up about it for fear of their careers. That’s part of what makes the punkers what they are, not giving a **** what their critics think!
