It must have been fairly recent the hearing deficiency started if he actually is using one and not a microphone. In December last year, NPR did a medical report on him and hearing was not an issue.
So if he is found to be using one, it should be challenged, or denied before he gets to the podium and proof of needing it required. Otherwise, he is being prompted illegally and not being forced to rely on his memory which is the entire intent of the debate,thinking on your feet like he would have to when face to face with other country’s leaders. Foul!

I think you're right. With the pressure of the crowd, being on national TV, with Trump putting the pressure on him, an earpiece with someone else talking to him, then he has to remember what they said and spit it out in a few seconds of hearing it ... that will totally confuse him ...

All Trump has to say is,”Joe are your handlers feeding you these bad answers through that earpiece? If so, you need better handlers.”
Media will go into a major cycle:
First, Biden issues denials. Media says what a mean liar Trump is.
Next they’ll have “guests” admit that it’s a hearing aid; Trump is bashing the elderly and handicapped.
Then proof oozes out that Biden really was receiving answers.
Rather than disrupt the transmission, Trump should have them intercepted and recorded. Once the trap is set, play them alongside debate recordings of Biden.

From what I’ve seen among friends and family, they’re distracting in the elderly even with a 100% functioning brain.
Mom is 96, and can tell you word-for-word parts of Hannity’s book, who was on what Fox show on what day, etc. But when there’s a conversation and she’s wearing her hearing aid, it flummoxes her.
