ABC News chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl expressed his concern about how the general public views the press during the Trump era.
"I do believe that unfortunately, there is a big chunk of the country that believes that the press is now the resistance and I think it's really unfortunate and I think that it has negative consequences for a free press. I think it has negative consequences for our democracy," Karl told Mediaite on Thursday. "But I think that the aggressive questioning of the president, particularly now in the wake of what we've seen unfold with the pandemic is absolutely necessary. Not only justified but necessary.
He went on to walk back the harsh criticism of his CNN counterpart Jim Acosta, who he slammed in his memoir for undermining the "credibility" of the White House press corps with his "speeches" that painted the press as "the resistance."
"The events that have played out since those early days of the Trump White House have in some ways vindicated Jim Acosta," Karl said.

Replace the word “believes” with “knows.”
The Nazis initially appealed to people by showing up by the truckload to stop crowds like this when the Weimar government was too weak to do so; that is how they made their first appearances. People looked to them to protect private property, businesses, etc.; they went off the rails when they ascribed racial causes for the Bolshevism. Prior to that, few people (besides the communists and anarchists) viewed the Nazis as a bad thing; instead they saw them as a group that would protect the country and their way of life.

Karl seems to be oblivious as to why the press is perceived as the resistance. It’s not because of the hard questions to the President; it’s because of the lack of questions and covering up for Democrats.
As long as Karl and the Left continues to say “our democracy” they continue to be part of the problem.
The people don’t think PravdABDNC is the enemy of America they know it is.
Yes, a corrupt media campaigning against Trump 24/7 has negative consequences.
It became 100% obvious when Bush chose Cheney to be his VP and every single news program the next day used the term "gravitas" for Cheney implying that Bush was too immature to be president. They didn't have time to watch and parrot each other, so that means someone in the DNC must have told them to use that word.
