Say what you want about his personal life, I don't recall ever hearing about him demanding special treatment. He's also a great vocalist and frontman...I saw JP twice and he was always in top form. He literally shut up n sang.

If I recall, Halford is also pretty conservative politically (at least he’s not a screaming lefty.) Always struck me as a decent guy.
And yes, saw Priest a handful of times and they were awesome.

Is there ANYONE in showbiz who leads anything REMOTELY resembling a normal, decent, respectable life????

Dr Ruth still lives in the "cluttered three-bedroom apartment in Washington Heights where she raised her two children and became famous, in that order," to be near the two synagogues of which she is a member, the YMHA of which she was president for three years, and a "still sizable community of German Jewish World War II refugees.

Many years ago in San Diego I went to see a matinee showing of This is Spinal Tap. Several rows ahead of where we were sitting was the band Judas Priest. They had performed in town the before.
Talked to them briefly after the movie. They all thought it was great.
I also remember Rob Halford was wearing these really skimpy white shorts.

The arena went dark and everyone got quiet.
...and then green lights floated through the darkness
...a moment later everyone went nuts.
Now when the day goes to sleep

One of the truly great rock bands with an iconic front man.

. I was lucky, because the sad thing is it makes people who don’t understand the gay community just go, ‘Obviously, they’re all just a bunch of perverts.’ And that’s horrible.
Yes cruising for ass sex in a toilet is perfectly normal! Dude how many millions have you made wher you can’t buy a male whore?

Yah...and every third word from her mouth was a word that rhymes with Venus. I don't call that normal....decent...*or* respectable.

Omgosh.
Ruth was anything except decent.
I tried listening to her.
Even as a ignorant teenager/young adult, there was no way I would have wanted any woman I know in my family to speak and believe as she did.

I also read somewhere many, many moons ago that the Scorpions were in a theater watching This is Spinal Tap when it came out. They got up all pissed off and left halfway through because they thought the movie was a parody of them. LOL! That whole riff on Stonehenge was based on an actual incident that happened during the Ian Gillan-era Black Sabbath tour.

I was a teenage Judas Priest fan in the 80s who had no idea Halford was gay. When he came out publicly much later, my reaction was, This kinda makes sense.
Same for George Michael. I had horrible gaydar as a teen in the 80s. I think most of us did. In retrospect, it was clearly obvious.

Among other tours, I saw Operation Rock & Roll (in 1990-91?) with Alice Cooper and Motorhead on the bill. Fun times.
