Leinenkugel's wants to give you free beer. All you have to do is listen to polka music.
The brewery is giving away a six-pack of Leinie's Oktoberfest, but participants must "enjoy 60 seconds of traditional polka music to unlock the beer claim."
Clearly, this is a Wisconsin company.
The registration page says to "enjoy some traditional German music for 60 seconds and we'll give you a code to redeem a six-pack of Leinenkugel's Oktoberfest on us. Danke!"
There's a clock that counts 60 seconds before you unlock a number to text "prost" and redeem the beer.
But wait there's more.
Leinenkugel also would like to sell you the correct clothing for the occasion. They call it a Leiniehosen. Unlike the fabled lederhosen it's named for, this is a hooded sweatshirt/sweat-pant combo with thermal pockets to keep beer cold and pretzels warm. The Leiniehosen costs $75.
Enter to get free Oktoberfest or to buy Leiniehosen at leinie.com/leiniehosen.

Cue up the 6 Fat Dutchmen on the turn table...
Yodel can last about two and a half minutes, tops
But it works well with “Clarinet Polka”.
I can’t STAND those ‘fruity’ beers, but when I was young and broke, we’d buy a case of Leinie’s in glass bottles (24) for $10 and $2 deposit, which would have to last us the month.
Woe be to him that either TOOK or BROKE one of those bottles during the course of the month!
SIXTY SECONDS?????
But that’s a WHOLE FREEKIN’ MINUTE!!!!!!
24 / 7
POLKAHEAVEN
The Geneva Convention would proscribe 60 minutes of polka music.
The Happy Schnaaps Combo. A Wisconsin Treasure!

We used to take the kids on The Badger (ferry boat) from Manitowoc, up and back along the WI coast of Lake Michigan in the early spring. The boat got her first workout of the season, they had a great buffet lunch and The Happy Schnaaps Combo played on deck.
100% Wisconsin FUN! :)
Well they must be marketing it outside of Wisconsin because who the hell in this State isn’t able to listen to 60 seconds of polka music.
I mean we’re brought up on it and there’s an Octoberfest with a polka band in every open parking lot throughout the State this time of year.
Fact is their Oktoberfest isn’t really that good...must be last years batch.
I want to know why Origional Leiney’s IS NOT sold in Missouri.
Its not sold in most States. I used to a take couple cases back to college in OH because everyone had heard of it but never had it.
Still the worst hangovers I’ve had came from the brown bombers.
Fastest polka we’ve danced was in College Station TX bar back in 78. To the William Tell overture. One spin each beat.
But thats a WHOLE FREEKIN MINUTE!!!!!!
That is ten times better than 6 seconds of Rap or Hip Hop.
Soooo not worth it.
Which is of course why they can and are doing this kind of promotion.
As long as it isn’t Disco Polo.
I don’t see TX on that list. Thanks for posting that ... that’ll save me 60 seconds. LOL
