No rebuttal, no explanation needed. Hypocrisy is the Democrat way. Republicans should stick together, confirm President Trump’s appointee and give the Democrats a big, fat, steaming helping of the hypocrisy they dish out on a daily basis.
Nothing to rebut. POTUS selects, Senate confirms. End of story.
No power on Earth can stop it. No impeachment proceedings, no motions in the House, not salon parlor nance, not the RPOETS OF the dying wish of rbg. NOTHING.
All this “he said, she said” about whether it is “correct” thing to do is just noise and should be ignored.
RBG didnt retire in 2016 because she had a personal grudge against Trump and wanted to be in place if the election went to the court.
My favorite idiotic Dem talking point, which I heard again this morning from Klobucher on CBS This morning, is....How can we do this now, the election started and PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY VOTED.
My rebuttal, Amy how stupid can one be to have already voted, before the debate, and when we know from history major circumstances can change right up to election day?
Democrats lie.
Here’s one...
If you “think” the GOP was wrong in denying Garland the vote, think of it as sparing him the humiliation of rejection, because not one GOPer would’ve voted to confirm. Further... since RBG in 2016 said a sitting President should be able to appoint SCOTUS Justices - election year or not, President Trump is rectifying it all by returning to the tradition of appointing a Justice forthwith. You should be happy now, right? After all... RBG wanted it this way!
God heard her plan and laughed.
Easy
The Republicans are in control of the Senate both 2016 and now
It is called the constitution and the GOP controlled Senate can do what it wants just like it did back in 2016
My response would be: "Thank you for making the case AGAINST early voting!"
So Trump is following RBGs wishes.
Havent you learned by now that there is no middle ground? There can be no discussion. This is war.
My exact point, hopefully some GOP commentator will make it as well.
as seen on twitter:
“RBG’s last request was that her replacement wouldn’t be determined until after there was a new President”
“Well, then, going by THAT statement, Trump has every right to request who will be his replacement”. (in 2024, lol)....
h/t Mr. Sorprano
When Chief Justice Roger Taney died in October 1864, Lincoln named Salmon Chase to succeed him. Nominated on December 6, 1864, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on the SAME DAY, he was sworn into office on December 15, 1864.
President Trump put out his list of possible Supreme Court Justice picks before Ginsburg died.
They should have started looking at them then.
Quote their lord and savior Obama: ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.
