It was all over the web in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern US this weekend, the grocery store chain Food Lion paid for an immense amount of social media ads after they experience immense backlash. “Food Lion deeply respects the American flag,” the company said in a statement posted on Twitter. “We listened to our associates and customers about our uniform policy. We require that associates wear masks without writing, insignia or symbols. We will allow associates to wear masks with the American flag that meet this standard.”

Who cares about masks, even patriotic ones? It’s still a mask.
You would think. But Food Lion doubled down before the quick reversal.
The ones responsible for the double down are the ones who need to be fired.
This is why Japanese companies make their employees wear uniforms.
I don’t know why people get upset if something is posted a few times.
Most of us don’t have all day to search with a flawed search tool for articles and this is the first time I’ve seen this story posted.
And the threat of arson and looting...
And then there are idjits who post stupid crap and think they are conservative.

Food Lion deeply respects the American DOLLAR.
True. But there are also trolls, frauds, call them what you will, that post nonsense articles that are a waste of time and bandwidth. One article listed over 800 links. Seriously? Who has time to even look at the list intelligently or visit any of them? Jim has a lot pf patience to put up with it, but it’s his site and all power to him.
We got Food Lions all over the place here in southern Delaware.
They would have lost a bundle just from me had they kept to that stupid edict.
They could have avoided all of this by supplying all employees with uniform masks that could say shop food lion or whatever.. No deviation from uniform masks. No problem....
Probably should get something like an algorithm to filter out multiple links like that plus abusers.

In a just and right minded United States food lion would be toast.
IF businesses were smart they’d provide their own masks with the company logo on it.
Food Lion hasn’t reacted that swiftly since the Delta House raided the Food Lion in Animal House.

Precisely. Making masks fashionable, i.e. making a statement, is bad. It legitimizes subservience. I've not worn one at all except when a doctor's office requires it for me to see a doctor.
Was in the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green today and did not, no one said a thing to me. There were a few others without them, but not many. Also went into Lowes and the grocery store on the way home and no one said anything to me about not wearing one.
How can one put the American flag on their mask without using “ writing, insignia or symbols” ?
